Allow me to set the record straight about Lakeside Bakery. First off, this place is AWESOME. They have fresh, cheap bakery every day that they're open, delicious cakes and cookies, deli salad options, hot ham and rolls, and full-size cakes! They also offer wedding cakes! People need to be more mindful that this is a small, local business, and a BAKERY nonetheless. When you go to a bakery, orders take time. That's just the way it is; staff have to arrange your donut choices in a box, they're constantly refilling their cases with the day's stock, they're shredding fresh ham for your Sunday brunch. Every time I'm in, there are only like five people working, and they aren't dragging their feet. They're kind, informative, and always willing to help. You take a number upon entry, and based on my experiences, it can take from 10 to 25 minutes for your turn to happen; that's JUST how it is at local businesses like this! If you don't have time to wait for delicious, local baked goods, Pick-n-Save is just down the road with their stale donuts and deli made without love. Personally, you can't beat the goods at Lakeside. Oh, and one more thing...I've worked in customer service jobs for over ten years...no staff member of a business wants to wait on someone who's on the phone. If your number is called, and you're in the middle of a phone call, for the love of all that is good, call your person back after your order and give the staff member your attention and respect. There are often dozens of individuals waiting for goods at Lakeside, the staff should not have to put up with customers who are distracted during their order. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Lakeside Bakery created a beautiful wedding cake for our wedding day! They shared examples of what our cake could look like and were very flexible to let us pick up samples to taste when we didn't have the time to stop by for a full tasting. They delivered a tasty cake that our guests enjoyed (no leftovers!). Their pricing is also very reasonable. My only critique would be that they could be more responsive and organized; it did take several attempts at reaching out to get in touch with them and confirm my order. But overall, we were very satisfied with our cake!

Yes to the variety! Yes to the service! Yes to the quality! You'll find something to like here from the many deli and bakery options. You feel like a kid in a candy store which makes decision-making hard when they're busy. I'm not sure you can make a bad choice, but we're partial to the (HUGE!) Pershings, peanut squares, cheese-filled pastry and, of course, the hot (or cold) ham and free fresh rolls deal. Highly recommended!
