Barnacle Bud's

Last night, my date and I had fabulous meal at Gene's Supper Club, aka Barnacle Bud's. What a fun concept. It was cozy with a bit of kitschy holiday flair! The food and cocktails were DELICIOUS! We love the mussels, with a bit of heat, the cheese curds that we're freshly fried in homemade same day batter. My filet with mushroom and garlic herb butter and roasted potatoes and asparagus was cooked perfectly for my tastes, medium rare. I had two cocktails, the cranberry Tom Collins and the Sidecar. The Sidecar was my favorite, but both were tasty! If you can, snag a reservation for this fun pop-up event!

Once was Milwaukee's coolest hidden gem. Not so hidden anymore. Just went on beautiful Tuesday night and there was a wait to get seated if you were eating. Have been going for 25 years, people have definitely found it. Funky Key West vibe. Great place to have drinks in the summer. Virtually all outdoor seating. Mostly go to drink but food is decent enough. Good oyster special on Tuesdays. Boaters hangout. Try it, you will be glad you found it.

My wife and I have been to Key West many times, an Barnacle Buds, believe it or not is a little piece of Key West in Milwaukee. It's an outdoor restaurant, some of it has a roof over it, plenty of bench or 2 seater tables. You get a great view of the Milwaukee river overlooking the city in a distance. All different kinds of boats pull up. All variety of people are welcome. Casual dress. Try the Shrimp tacos for appetizers and The Grouper Fish fry. So flaky. Delicious. And they even have Key Lime pie, and its yellow like it should be👍. The service is good and friendly. It's a little Jewel that's hidden away on the South side of Milwaukee. Absolutely a must go to for Fish and a touch of 🏖🏝🏖🏝
