It was a lovely anniversary dinner. Bartender makes an excellent dirty martini but I would love to see a nicer/fresher olive or option of blue cheese stuffed. Our favorite food items were the carrots for the table and the sea bass. Everything was delish in a beautiful, romantic setting.

What a wonderful dinner! Morgan at the bar mixed excellent cocktails. Everything I had was so delicious! Gnocchi, tuna, octopus, gnudi, quail, carrots. All SO good. I recommend going with a group of 3-4 people so that you can get a few bites of lots of different things.

One of Memphis’s fine gem restaurant. Great steaks, cooked exactly how we like it, the cocktails also excellent. And their desserts are mouth watering. I would highly recommend.

Acre was excellent. No complaints. Had a few small plates and the NY strip which they cooked to blue at my request which was much appreciated as it was done perfectly! Highlight was definitely the steak and the farro small plate. Will definitely be back!

Great atmoshphere...quaint but not stuffy. Waitress adjusted to our group well. Sourdough bread was an excellent start and the mushroom soup was fabulous. Main dishes were all delicious (halibut, duck and steak). Some of the sides that came with them were mediocre, but overall a fabulous meal (didn't distract from the main dish). Drinks were yummy too. Highly recommend the Soup Du Jour and the This is my Second Rodeo.

Not only did they pay attention to every detail, but their food was outstanding! Every one of our dishes went back to the kitchen without a crumb left on it!

Morgan was an absolute pleasure. She had amazing recommendations and drink suggestions. I had the ribeye and you better be hungry as it's huge. Correctly cooked and very tender. The duck confit casserole was amazing. Parking is in the back and if you show up when they open, you probably won't need a reservation. Sit at the bar and Morgan will entertain you. I will come here again.

I think a 3.something overall average rating is spot-on for this restaurant. The establishment itself is amazing. The interior is gorgeous with all the wood throughout. The patio is wonderful and it's off the beaten path of other Memphis restaurants so privacy and size was nice. I took my girlfriend here last night and received great service on the patio. We ordered spring rolls from the bar which were delivered fairly quickly. They didn't seem to come right out of the fryer but were still good nonetheless. (acceptance from ordering off the bar menu) My date ordered the scallops entree and I got the snapper. The scallops were really good. Very rich, tender and plentiful. The snapper was a tad dry due to the thickness of the thin filet. The sides with both dishes were good compliments to the main flavor. We went here knowing we were splurging for date night but the price for everything, IMO, was about $30-$40 too high. The wine list was very expensive even for someone just wanting a taste with their meal. I would put Acre in my top-10 fine dining establishments in Memphis mostly due to the physical structure of the place but it failed to wow me for the price and quality of the overall experience. We will probably return, however, to sit at that awesome bar and take in the beautiful scenery.

If you are an adventurous eater, this is your place. The menu is very different than from what you would usually see in Memphis. There are some recognizable dishes, but if you come here PLEASE try something different. You won't be disappointed.

I've some odd & traditional dishes. I have enjoyed all of them. You can't go wrong with anything you order. SO ENJOY!!!

I also enjoy the back patio. It is a hidden oasis. You can come here to enjoy a specialty drink or unwind while drinking a cocktail with a friend.

Just Poor. The crab appetizer was bland my wife,s filet had fat that I could not cut with a steak knife my my strip was very tough for a aged steak.

When we made a comment about the filet to our waiter there was no response or management follow up
Only good thing valet parking

Acre is kind of hidden. It is not on a restaurant street and it is in a house that looks like a log cabin inside. We each ordered a different appetizer and a different main course, so that we could try as much as possible. Here is the goat cheese ravioli. It wasn't a traditional ravioli, but it was great, nonetheless. This was my absolute favorite. It was tomato tartare and we decided it was surrounded by fried hummus sticks. This was octopus. I've had it before but normally it was a sushi dish. This was probably my 2nd favorite. I ordered the pâté. I think this was my first time having it. It was very good, but very rich. A little went a long way. I'd order it again, but I'd probably rather have less. On to the main courses... We all had differing opinions as to which was the best. We

Nice lunch, but not good lunch. I ordered crab cake and kimchi french fries. Both dishes looked fine, but the flavor profile was flat. A perfectly cooked crab cake had no flavor, and not even enough salt. The kimchi fries said "sriracha mayo and cilantro," but needed about five times the quantities used for both. And salt! My neighbor had a grilled cheese sandwich that looked lovely, but had...again...no flavor. It could have used a more assertive, flavorful cheese, some salt and pepper, and perhaps more aggressive caramelized onions. Everything was made with high-quality ingredients that somehow managed to leave the flavor out. Is it possible that nobody at the restaurant understands that flavor is a necessary component of food? I had good experiences at Wally Joe's, but after my fourth trip to Acre, I can't imagine I would return.

Really?. I've had both dinner and lunch at Acre on several occasions. Sometimes it was good (if not great), sometimes it has been so-so due to the service.
The last 2 times I have been there I've had the same server. I have to tell you, he exudes nothing but condescension and overly-pretentiousness. Normally things don't bother me but when he explained something to a person at my table, I felt he was looking down his little glasses and talking to us like we had no clue about dining out.
Normally, the staff seems laid back and relaxed and happy to be in a beautiful building with creative cuisine. The employees seem to be knowledgeable. This guy was over the top.

Game Changer for Memphis!. This is one of those restaurants where it all comes together. Start with the food...it is good. They have enough variety and creativity but not one of those places that lists 25 ingredients with 23 you never heard of before. Good wine list with a lot of reasonably priced options. Service is friendly and professional. Finally the restaurant is set in an old home that was remodeled in a very contemporary fashion. Best of all is the outdoor patio where you can dine outside or just have drinks. I think this restaurant does the best job of pulling everything together in Memphis. It feels like a restaurant you'd discover in California...only it's in Memphis.

Delightful Mushrooms?. Interesting preparation of chanterell mushrooms. How about. putting gnoccchi with them for a more classical french approach wich you claim is one of your overriding styles.Too creative perhaps?

Hostess was RUDE. Gave a party of 5 without a reservation a outside table while my party of 4 with a reservation was told she would have to "see" if they could accommodate that request. Food was too small in portion size (I am not a over eater) I left hungry.

A REALISTIC review. I've eaten at Acre probably 5 or 6 times now and I always really enjoy it. The patio is quite nice compared to most, but I've eaten inside as well. The menu seems to always be changing- which I enjoy (although I miss those shortribs!)- so there is always something new for me to try. Now, I'm not going to say every dish I've ever eaten there is the best dish on Earth, because, let's be real- some things are going to be home runs and some are gonna be ground rule doubles. However, to read these reviews that accuse Acre of using "bottled salad dressing like Chili's" and serving "raw fish over leftovers" are bizarre. Go look around the back. Why would a restaurant waste time with a big garden and a grow tower to serve leftovers? And why would they serve bottled dressing when its probably cheaper to make it in bulk anyway? And have you ever been to Chili's? Maybe the review was from someone who works there, but I'll skip the Triple Dipper and being strong armed into a Top Shelf frozen margarita by a freaked out 20 year old who would obviously be anywhere else. Anyway, yes the portions are not huge. They are not covered with mounds of fries or mashed potatoes, but I've never left hungry. And if I'm famished my money is better spent at a buffet anyway. Acre is where I go to relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and savor the flavors of a nice meal. I'm not saying you have to like the place, but if you're gonna write a review, don't make it so obvious that you have an agenda!

Awful!. I went to Acre with my husband and two other couples this past weekend. We all have small children, so getting out together is a treat. We were excited when we pulled up and entered. The atmosphere is amazing! We had drinks on the patio while we waited for our table and were giddy with anticipation. For the first course, several of us got the asparagus soup- it was just okay- it tasted like puréed asparagus. The crab cake was good and the duck pastrami was great. For our entree, four of us ordered the cod. When it arrived, our jaws dropped. It looked like a raw pice of fish on top go whatever they had leftover in the kitchen- totally not what I expected when reading the menu description. The fish was indeed cooked, poached I'm guessing, with absolutely no seasonings. It was so bland and disgusting is could only stomach a few bites. The "hash" underneath was equally disappointing. I took a bite of what I thought was a mushroom, only to find it was a burned piece of something- so gross, the potatoes seemed like frozen hash browns... The waiter never checked on us to see if we were okay or if we liked our food. We literally had to flag him down so we could get our check and leave.
My suggestion is to go and enjoy drinks on the incredible patio and then hightail it it Iris, Flight, or McEwens for dinner!

So lackluster. Having heard mixed reviews about Acre, I was anxious to give it a try with my parents and boyfriend. Obviously the most striking thing about Acre is its beautiful interior, which unfortunately turned out to be the only positively striking thing about our experience. Before I cover the food, however, you must know that, after our remarkably lackluster $300 dinner, we were asked by our waiter "if we needed anything else, because he could get our cars pulled around." Quite possibly one of the tackiest ways I've ever been asked to turn a table, if not the most! Come to think of it, it might have been one of the only times I've been asked to turn a table.. When we mentioned it to the manager, he repeated "I'm sorry" twice, while literally backing away into the kitchen. I don't know what sort of service you expect for that price point, but I certainly require something a little more "fine dining" and a little less "Chili's". We started with the house-made mozzarella salad, of which the mozzarella was excellent, but the fricasse salad with balsamic vinegarette was disappointing. Are they using six month old vinegar or bottled stuff?! We followed with the lobster lasagna, which was alright, but not spectacular, considering. My boyfriend and I split the scallops and the truffle chicken for main courses. The scallops themselves were cooked well, but the sauce tasted like oversalted canned stroganoff, and the bok choy was overcooked. The truffle chicken was... did not remotely taste of truffles. It was well-cooked chicken breast stuffed with a "truffle paste" as they described it, but, even tasting the paste alone, I got absolutely no truffle out of it, and we are truffle fanatics. If "truffle" is to be the first word in a description, I'd like to be able to taste that it's there... not just read that it's there. The lentils underneath would have been fine if it were your first ever attempt at the legumes--poorly seasoned and paired. For dessert, the boyfriend got the peanut butter cremeaux, which was another disappointment; I got the toffee pudding, which was actually quite good. Moral of the story? Go with low expectations and deep pockets. Otherwise, don't waste your money. Go to Iris or Flight. Or hell, go to Chili's. You'll probably get better service.

I was disappointed with my experience at Acre. I had the truffle chicken, but could not taste any truffle at all. I was bot impressed with the dish at all. My girlfriend had the scallops. She said that the scallops were ok, but everything else tasted terrible with dish. Also, if you are one that likes portion sizes and likes to leave a place feeling stuffed, this is not the place for you. I did, however, like the mozzarella salad and the lobster ravioli (which actually did have truffle in it.) I also liked the ambience of the establishment and the set up. One last critique, we spent a lot of money here. When we were finished eating, the waiter essentially kicked us out of our table by telling us another group had arrived and it was their table. Not a way to impress people, Acre. And when we complained to the manager about it, he basically avoided us until we left the place. If you are going to spend that much on dinner, you should never be rushed out of the place by your waiter. Go to Iris instead!

Loved it! - great atmosphere overall feel. Good lighting and decor. But that's just the start. The food and menu were great. You wont find this menu selection anywhere else. The service was exactly what you want on a date night.. we were left alone but never left without or wanting. Good job with this one!

Disappointed. I dined at Acre on a Wednesday night. It was a decent crowd for a week night. The service was great and the atmosphere was even better. It is simply beutiful, inside and out. We were a party of five. Everyone else loved their meal. My meal was blan. We only experienced one problem which will result in me not returning...Before we arrived, my wife called and asked if we could bring in our own wine. She was simply told yes. When we arrived, the waiter offered to pour our wine only to return a few minutes later to let us know that since they carry that particular wine, we could not open ours unless we also bought one of theirs. Since my wife and I were the only ones drinking the wine, we certainly did not need two bottles. We explained to both the waiter and the hostess that we were not told of that rule. Had we known of the rule, we would have brought in a different label that they did not carry. The hostess admitted that she should have told us when she called and she apologized. Given the circumstances, I asked the waiter to ask the manager for permission to open the bottle anyway. He still said no. To me, the manager had a great opportunity to make a happy customer in the restaurant's infancy. Instead, I will not be back.

Not positive. Ordered the pork torta with chimichurri today and it had unpleasant fishy taste. Now, I make and love chimichurri but this was not standard.

Great Upscale Dining Experience. We recently had a wonderful dining experience at Acre. The dining room is absolutely beautiful, yet comfortable and inviting. Our service was attentive without being pushy or overbearing. We were brought warm bread soon after ordering and brought another basket without having to ask. My watermelon salad was a solid salad, but the halibut entree and warm sticky toffee pudding dessert were both absolutely outstanding. Overall, it was a great dinner, and I can't wait to go back!

Beautiful setting. Stunning interior and exterior. Service was excellent. The menu is limited and while the appetizer selection is creative, the salads were basic, the entree's were lacking in creativity. I had the halibut and would not recommend it. The fish was flavorless - did not taste like true Alaska Halibut but the rest of our party enjoyed their meals. I think I would be more impressed if the limited menu meant that each item was prepared to perfection - however that wasn't the case. Still though it is a beautiful restaurant and has potential.

Disappointing Service. The atmosphere is wonderful and my first dinner there was good in all aspects. lunch today was a disappointment - i was treating 3 people to a special lunch and we had bad service from the moment we sat down. we had to request water after waiting for 5 minutes, we had to wait another 5 minutes for our waiter to come. butter and bread came later. the lunch items were fine, not outstanding. dessert order again took a long time to come. a big disappointment

Great addition to the East Memphis dining scene. First of all, the space is amazing. Inside, the atmosphere feels like a swank lodge and there's a beautiful patio.

The bar space is perfect. Intimate and cool with an extensive specialty drink list and clearly well-trained bartenders. The bartender mixed up a lovely blackberry concoction for the pregnant member of our party. She loved it and the drink size was generous. Our cocktails arrived just as the hostess came to tell us our table was ready. When she realized that we'd just gotten drinks, she told us to enjoy our drinks and just come and get her when we were ready to be seated. Given this place is brand new and reservations are stacked up, I was very impressed that they offered us this courtesy.

We were seated fifteen minutes later in the larger dining room at the south end of the restaurant. Though beautiful, it is a bit noisy.

The menu is "well edited" and not diversified as I had hoped. Our party of four settled on first and second courses. There was a slight snafu with drink orders, but everything else went smoothly.

For the first course, I had the octopus salad and it was interesting. The portion size was right and the flavors were great. However, I bit into what i determined to be a peppercorn several bites in and the taste overwhelmed the dish. My husband ordered the pea soup and it was underwhelming. In fact, I hate to say this, but the dish needed salt. Overall, I'd give the first course a B.

For the main course, I ordered the sea scallops and they were cooked to perfection. A table-wide taste test confirmed that this was the best dish of the night. I highly recommend it if you like scallops and artichokes. A+ for the scallop entree.

My husband had the ribeye. It was well marbled and flavorful. Though he doesn't typically order steak, my husband thought the dish was excellently prepared.

I was a little surprised by the lack of creativity of the dessert menu. Everything was very basic. We ordered four different desserts for the table and everything tasted great. I had the cheesecake and I might say it is some of the best cheesecake I've had in Memphis, outside of the Cheesecake Corner downtown.

I won't say that this is the best restaurant in town, but I do think it is in very good company. I think this restaurant will become a staple of the East Memphis fine dining scene. We'll definitely try it out again in the future.
