Spargos

Went for breakfast, before catching a movie. My wife ordered the pancakes, they came out deconstructed with all elements in separate bowls. Ice cream was rock hard, but the main issue was the pancakes themselves, definitely not fresh. One part of the pancake was like a rock as though still frozen, and she became disguted with the whole dish quite quickly, and left pretty much 3 quarters of it on the plate. Table staff were good, but I took my wife's plate up to the chefs pass, where I stated the issue. He didn't seem to care, and I didn't have time to argue as we would have been late for our movie, because of the time it took for our meals to come out. Normally would give places a second chance, but based on other reviews I don't think we will. ☹️

My partner and I decided, despite its reputation, to give this place a chance.. we really shouldn’t have. The incredibly friendly and accomodating servers almost made up for the fact that we were given the worst bruschetta we’ve both ever experienced. If paying $14 for a serve of toast with plain diced tomato, x4 pieces of basil (which were so bland that you could mistake it for spinach) and a few bits of bocconcini (can you get bocconcini in a can? If so, that would explain it) and with absolutely no garlic, olive oil (thankfully the lovely wait staff didn’t hesitate to accommodate us with some on request) or seasoning of any kind - then this place is for you and I personally recommend the bruschetta..

Garlic prawns. Dreadful. The sauce was 90% salt 5% cream 5% garlic. The bowl was flooded. It resembled soup. The rice was hard to find as it was Immersed in the "sauce" l did ask the concerned waitress to pass on my comments to the kitchen. I also question how hard is it to remove prawn tail's before serving. My partners Carbona was also salty, but more edible then mine. Very disappointed

$16 for coles premade packet pancakes that were so hard and stale a knife could not even cut them. The bacon looked and tasted raw and the scrambled egg(s) was such a small portion that it looked like a singular egg serving. The portions were all so small that they put a large handful for raw spinach on the plate to add some substance. Shame on the kitchen. Just to top it off all the staff were rude and grumpy even though we ordered via the table QR code system. The two times we asked for assistance they acted annoyed and then made a scene over $3.50 for a kids entertainment pack as it only comes with a “kid’s meal” after we just ordered 5 full meals, 5 drinks and a baby chino and toast which was more expensive than a kids meal. Spargo’s Cafe Bar Marion was not a good experience. I would not recommend and will not be coming back. Waste of money.
