Chiltern Hundreds

There are a couple of things that we would change next time while booking a table (which we definitely will do). For example the table where we were sitting was near the path where staff members and people walk, and sideways to the entrance door, and as I am always cold, it was chilly for me. Despite all that, it is a beautiful pub with amazing cooks that prepared our meals yesterday. We came here for lunch and dinner. Both times the food amazed us. Like you see in the pictures, everything was absolutely vanished. The other thing was the toilet, I am tiny but it was so hard to squeeze to close the door 😁 And I suggest putting a sign that that first toilet is not in working condition. Desserts we ordered were brownie and caramel sundae which were so filling. We came out so full and satisfied by the food. Service was good but not super because they had only two waiters, so we had to wait for a bill but the waitress and all staff were helpful. Thank you so much! P.S. We will be back ☺️

We were served by the lovely Shirley who despite having a broken toe had come into work as they were short staffed. With only two people serving the restaurant she was rushed off her feet but still stayed positive and was smiling and chatty. She did a marvellous job and hope she’s appreciated because that level of service is hard to find. Thanks Shirley

After arriving in a whim already stressed due to being let down by another eatery, my partner and I arrived approx 8pm with little hope. By some luck, we were greeted by a lovely, smiling individual named Shirley. Shirley had been an absolute star, making sure we were well looked after, even some time after her shift had ended. She was always positive during interactions and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was amazing, came out hot and well presented. My partner and I were both over the moon despite a negative start to our evening, and this is all thanks to Shirley. She is an absolute asset to your team, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.
