Dickey's Barbecue Pit

I was so excited to find this location. I used to eat at the location in SC weekly!!! But...as soon as I walked in, I could tell this was going to be interesting....I'm only assuming it was the manager that helped us...he had the absolute worst attitude. I already knew what I wanted, only to find they didn't offer the sides I wanted, so it took me a second to gather my thoughts...no biggie. My fiancée ordered and we went to pay. Mine came with a drink, but his did not. We had to pay regular price for the drink and didn't get the yellow cup. Instead, they only had huge styrofoam cups. My fiancée asked where the yellow cups were and was told they were out of stock....ummm, okay. Not an issue but should we be paying full price for a cup we have to throw away?? Then, I'm not super short, but....I had to stretch to reach my cup and food. The guy didn't even attempt to slide our trays closer to us or anything. He was just inconvenienced with us being there....the sweet tea had a moldy taste to it which means they need to clean the container. The counter top where the sauce was located was absolutely filthy and yet again, we had to stretch to reach to get any out of the containers. The ketchup was in packets and of course it was the cheap kind that tastes like moldy tomatoes....when I FINALLY was able to take a bite of my sandwich, the meat was warm at best. My fiancée ordered a 2 meat plate and the amount of meat they put on his tray was probably half (maybe a little more) of the portion that should have been given...and his food was barely warm as well. As I stated earlier, I used to go to the location in SC so frequently that they knew what I wanted when they saw my car pull in...so, I know portion size...and they ALWAYS weighed theirs before putting it on the tray. So, nope....we won't go back....it was obvious we were really welcome there as soon as we walked in.

Highly recommend! I bought six pounds of pulled pork to serve at a graduation party and it was delicious! It was so perfect and I was able to keep it in a warm oven until the party and it didn’t dry out. I ordered the day before (less than 24 hours ahead) and they had no problem having it ready the next day. They gave me containers to fill with whatever sauce I wanted. Would definitely recommend!

Visiting here on vacation. We randomly come across this spot. It was very good. I saw some reviews that said the manager was rude but I have to disagree!! He was very friendly, busy but he made sure to check in on us and even had a quick convo. The food was really good and you got your moneys worth! When I’m back in town I’ll definitely drop by here again

Man, their is a tough crowd on here. We felt that the food was good, but we came on a day that it wasn't busy. Which means that it wasn't as fresh as we would've wanted it, but we still enjoyed our food and the experience. The restroom was pretty cool and this was the first Dickey's that Ive been to that didn't have the smoke I'm the air. More importantly it wasn't in my face.

EDIT: I was encouraged by the "social media" team to e-mail them so this could be straightened out, yet it has proven to be a way to save face.... They just reach out to negative reviews and make it seem like they will make things right, yet once you do what they asked, which was to e-mail them, they ignore you. I have attached the picture of my ribs from this night. Dry, over cooked, fall-off-the-bone and not in the good way. Prior customers reviews were right.... food is not fresh. Ordered to go entrees and even tipped, only to be given a clump of beef jerky. This was the hardest, most over cooked barbeque I've ever seen. We couldn't even eat our dinner and had to throw it away, it was that bad. The staff should feel ashamed of themselves for serving that type of product to a paying customer. $30 wasted. I wish I would have checked my meals before going home. I will never come back here.

We came to get take out for a few families getting together. We asked for a menu item on the website that included 3 lbs of meat. The gentleman behind the counter had no clue what we were talking about. He offered us a 2 lbs option by a different name and we clarified that it should include 3 lbs. He kept looking above, I'm assuming there was a menu board on his side to reference. We finally got it straight and received our order. Besides that, the food was good and the staff was friendly. The place was nicer than other Dickey's I've been to.
