Skaf's Grill

Absolutely love this place! The staff is so welcoming. We got a seat pretty quickly. We had the falafel, spicy potato, fattoush salad, hummus, and grape leaves. The spicy potatoes are a must get; they are so good with lots of garlic and a spicy kick. I loved their grape leaves. Sometimes the skin can be tough, but these just melted in my mouth. We couldn’t stop eating it was that good. I am vegan and gluten free so they made sure my dietary needs were met. I couldn’t be more thankful for their patience and kindness. They checked on us to make sure we were always happy and if we needed anything. I will continue to come back and eat here regularly.

We ordered the grill combo, falafel appetizer and some pastries. Everything was so good. The server was amazing! Very kind man. He is the gem of this place who makes this place very homely and welcoming! I don't remember his name, but he had a big silver pendant. Amidst a pleasant atmosphere, old grandfathers dozed at back tables after a hearty lunch. The walls adorned with captivating photographs caught my attention.

The food was scrumptious, the atmosphere familiar and relaxed, and the service just right. I had the Kibbeh Labanieh - I have never tried it or anything quite like it before, and I was not disappointed - the produced-in-house yogurt had a wonderful flavor and texture and the kibbeh balls were quite good - a cross of comfort food and complex spicing. My friend had the kafta kabobs and was kind enough to share with me - we spent some time discussing and trying to determine how they managed to keep the meat so juicy in what is often a fairly dry kabob variety at other restaurants. Just excellent - it was the best instance of kafta I have ever eaten. I think my favorite item was the hummus - it was rich and creamy with a generous amount of sesame tahini and an overall delightful flavor. I plan to go back whenever I have reason to be in that area of LA - everything was excellent.
