Potential Maybe. First off this place is hard to find if you are using Google maps. The place is funky and not upscale. It could be a cool place the said they have bands on Friday. So here are the issues, my plate was just okay. Actually it was not good. The salad was drenched in water and it was just lettuce with carrots. The dressing was generic. The soup was generic. I specifically went here because they said they had Korean food. Please do not judge Korean food based off their plate. I ordered Korean BBQ kalbi. It is usually grilled. This tasted and looked boiled or slow cooked. The sauce was good but there was hardly any meat on the bone. The fried rice was drab and didn't have much flavor. The service was so slow I started a timer to see how long it was taking. There was only one other table. The staff was nice enough though. However they ALL need training. The waitess asked me if I wanted order real quick. Maybe it was just me and my attitude since I had been waiting 12 minutes to order. She never brought me a proper napkin. I took a picture of my pitiful cheap napkin. The California roll was horrible and bland. You can get better at the grocery store. The food was cheaply priced and I see why. I would pay more for better food and service. What is sad is that there is so much potential for this place to become a cool hip diner type of sushi place. It has a bar area and play room with two pool tables. I would have given them one star but the staff was nice just untrainned. I would Not bring a guest here until they improve. Last note, the did have an A GRADE from health Dept.

It brings me such disappointment that I have to update my raving review (below). The owner has fired an amazing chef in favor of one who judging by what I ordered doesn't know what he's doing. I asked why the tea tasted like water and the waitress said the owner is trying to save money so we only use one bag. This place has become nothing but cheap buffet quality and I can no longer recommend anyone come here. I'll try to find another place in Longview to recommended but this is far from it. Also, the sushi case has been moved to the kitchen which makes for a boring experience. ***** Old review****** 5 star authentic (as found in Japan) super inexpensive sushi with Korean and Chinese dishes for the non sushi lovers. Without a doubt, this place is one of top 3 sushi places I've been to. Having reviewed over 200 sushi places I can not urge you enough to check this place out. The chef really knows his stuff. He makes the sushi rice like they do in Japan with authentic and extremely hard to find technique and seasoning. I've only been able to find sushi rice like this at 2 other places in Texas. Beyond the rice, the fish is super fresh and they are not shy about how much they give you. The rolls are well thought out with awesome flavor \texture combinations. The presentation is 5 star which makes sense because the chef has worked in 5 star restaurants for over 30 years. It's really nice to find such quality at such a low price. The restaurant is very comfortable and elegant, perfect for a casual lunch or even a date night.

What a little hidden gem off the beaten path in Longview, first time here and loved everything about it.. when we first pulled up I kinda questioned myself but Don't judge a book by its cover .. walking in the atmosphere is cozy ,very romantic . Sam was our server and she was wonderful from start to finish.. I had the Spicy Shrimp Teriyaki Bento plate, came with a salad (which had this amazing dressing/sauce that's homemade, and so good we actually bought some to take home) California Roll which was awesome, rice, a tempered shrimp, and a fried dumpling.. Everything I put in my mouth was just wonderful.. The hot sake was good too. I can't wait to go back and try something different.. Truly a hidden gem...

Oh my where to start!! This is a place where if you go off of the outside looks you would probably never eat here. It is well worth getting off the beaten path!! The sushi was excellent!! And very reasonably priced Service was outstanding!! Tea glass never got empty!! And staff was friendly!! Will definitely be back to this little gem!! I definitely recommend eating here!!

Just had the best sushi dinner at Doshirock! The food was even better than normal (and I have always thought it was amazing anyways). My husband and I went here tonight for his birthday and met the owner, Judy, she was lovely and added that special touch to make his birthday celebration that much better. We also noticed the decorations and atmosphere have changed from the last time we were here and it looks great. Keep it up Doshirock, you guys are my favorite place!

What a gem of a place. I almost dint go in by the look of it from outside. I am glad we went in. it was pretty cute and clean. The staff was very nice. The food was fresh and very good so we went back the next day with my whole family. I am happy to say that this is the best place for sushi in the city and we plan on being regulars. I highly recommend going.

Would not recommend the sushi. I don't know if the chef has ever been to a sushi place in the first place. Salmon was so so but the Unagi was for sure too old. Also now seaweed wrap on the eel just falls off the rice. Very little service people here. Food was quick I got there about 1145am out by 12:15 on a weekday. Might have better luck with the cooked food.

An interesting mix of Japan, New Orleans, and a country bar, this place serves interesting new dishes that are phenomenal. I highly recommend the volcano roll and don't miss out on the salad with ginger and wasabi-mayonnaise dressing! The staff is very friendly, the dishes came out at a good pace, and the portion sizes were perfect!
