Leatherhead really seems to be going up in the world. Places like Charlie and Ginger, Lucio’s Coffee, and now Trend1 bring a really nice variety of places to eat (while avoiding faceless corporations). It’s come a long way since being featured in HG Wells’ War of the Worlds. Thankfully there were no alien tripods on today’s visit. The first time I wandered into Trend1 I was pleasantly surprised. The place is like a Tardis of tastiness. It boasts an incredibly well stocked deli and a range of fresh counters with savoury foods and desserts. They told me on arrival they have a lunchtime meal deal going. For £10 you get a soft drink, a choice of something savoury from the counter, and a dessert. Amazing value! I opted for a coke, a béchamel pasta with smoked mozzarella, speck, and Italian sausage with a salted caramel sfogliatella (don’t tell my GP). As you can see from the photo the portion size is very generous and it tasted fantastic. They boxed up what I had left over and I picked up some focaccia bread to have later with a burrata. Two courses for lunch plus a drink for a tenner. I’d say that’s well worth a visit. And of course if we don’t support these great independent local businesses they can’t keep doing what they do! They’ve also got a bar upstairs but as I was cycling home I thought best not to visit for now. Prova questa deliziosa gastronomia!

Popped in on a Friday evening. Guy serving was extremely polite and explained what food was left for us to choose from. We picked some chicken, meatballs, arancini, roll stuffed with ragu and some pasta. Food was amazing, really tasty and generous sized portions. Had a gran reserva beer which was lovely. Made to feel very welcome, really enjoyed our food and the overall experience. Well worth visiting. We will return in the future.

Fantastic food.. the sharing platters are amazing!! So great to have somewhere like this in Leatherhead, the atmosphere is great as are all the staff. Only one comment not really a criticism but would be great if the live music started a bit later maybe 10 as you are open til 2am as once the pianist starts singing it's very hard to chat as the music is too loud. That said she is fantastic ! And really caters for all age groups. Would highly recommend Trend1. We will definitely be visiting again very soon!
