Mel's Diner

There is not much you can say about Mel's other than its a Great place to go for some really good food and an Awesome staff. Annette was just a fabulous waitress with an awesome smile and personality to match and very knowledgeable about the menu items. I spent 4 days here in Lafayette eating 2-3 meals a day out at various restaurants and none compared to Mel's. The quality,the selection,and the prices can not be beat. My only regret is that I did not find this place sooner. It would have saved me a lot of money and disappointment and would have been where I went for every meal. I really can't say enough about how much I like Mel's. I wish we had one in Bossier.

We fell into this place right after a couple of football games so the teens were loud and a bit hyped up. As busy as it was the food was worth the wait. I had the 2 eggs with a meat. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the eggs were very good. Summer provided great service although when I asked for cane syrup…it was a no go.

Best pancake you'll put in your mouth. If you get a sandwich for breakfast, get it on grilled texas toast. You'll be glad you did, regular toast was kinda disappointing. Fast service, no wait at all when we went. Prices weren't too bad and food was awesome. Probably my top 3 for breakfast anywhere. Three thumbs up on this one

This is a place you shouldn't pass up! It's a great retro diner with neon lights and other decor that will reel you in. When you walk through the door you'll be greeted with a happy face and wonderful atmosphere. Once you find your seat at a booth or the bar, one glance at their menu will have you wanting to try a little bit of everything. I had Mel's Meat Loaf and it was amazing. I can honestly say it tasted like a homemade meal. To top off the evening I grabbed a milk shake to go and now I'm trying to decide what I want to order next time I swing by.
