The Dumpling Kitchen

This is no-frills place. Simple styling, long tables and benches to sit. But I didn't come here for the ambiance, my wife and I wanted to try their food. My wifey ordered a combo meal of Noodles with pork dumplings and hot green tea, I got the looroo and ice milk tea. The food burst with a cornucopia of flavors and spices on our palate. We both very much enjoyed our meals. The looroo, visually reminded of home made chili sans beans, but it tasted so much different. I loved how it complimented the white rice and cabbage well. My wife's Noodles and Dumplings were exquisite. Tender noodles and perfectly fried dumplings, where the pork filling was superb. She enjoyed her hot tea. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because my ice milk tea was devoid of sweet, it tasted very bitter, didn't enjoy it at all, I ended thrown it all out. Other than my ice milk tea experience, I would highly recommend this place, do not let the decor (or lack thereof) fool you, it's the cuisine that counts here.

A different experience and food than your average Chinese takeout restaurant. The food is unique and tastes great. I like the pop chicken, the spicy pork & chive dumplings, and the pork chops. The food is seasoned so that's a plus in my book.. The customer service is friendly as well. The ginger honey tea was delicious and homemade!

I place my orders from Seamless. No issues with deliveries, they are relatively fast. The dumplings come piping hot - appropriate, if they were anything less than piping hot you wouldn't be eating dumplings the right way. The flavor is unforgettable. You won't regret making orders from this kitchen, the dumplings are so incredibly tasty and easy to share with friends!

The fried chicken is very bad. Adding tons of salt to it doesn't add flavor. Also got the TDK wrap doesn't matter if it is chicken or pork, it is very bland and the sauce is just at the end and not spread out evenly. Very lazily made to say the least, yet took an immense amount of time. Also customer service here is atrocious. Came with a group of friends and one person ordered and then I stepped up and was standing literally in front for like 10 minutes while the cashier with the glasses just talked in chinese with another worker and then she had the audacity to say that my order is coming out and to wait. She actually thought that that one order of chicken wrap my friend ordered was for the entire group! Mind you we were all lined up to order. When I told her I wanted to order she didn't even apologize or anything about it. All of the people that work here are not trained in any way for customer service especially the cashiers and are disrespectful. Add to the fact that they treat their chinese customers so much more better than others and it blatantly shows. It is the duty of a cashier to know what food is on their menu and help the customers out not the other way around, might want to invest in cashiers that can speak English properly and understand what we are trying to order as well hiring people who don't have such a sour attitude. This place was great when it first opened shop and I presume the owner when she was there was taking lead but ever since then it is has fallen terribly. Will never come here again and I suggest others do the same. Trust me there are so much better chinese restaurants to go to than to settle for spot like this. If distance is an issue there are some in Newark, East Orange, and South Orange. To those with transportation means Palisades Park, and Fort Lee is a hub for amazing Asian food. I am not the first bad review and will not be the last, but I really hope suggestions are taken into consideration because it doesn't take a business major to see that this place will go under sooner or late if it continues like this :)
