Sunset Grill

This was an amazing place! The view alone was worth coming here. We all ordered different burgers and they were all devoured. Tater tots as an option as opposed to French fries was great, and an extra plus: the had garlic parmesean seasoned tots! (It was fresh garlic w oil, so as long as you don't mind a little extra grease, this is a must order!)

Out of towners looking for a place to eat. Picked this place for the view of Cayuga Lake. Place sure did not disappoint!! It was beautiful and comfy. The bathroom was super clean, which I appreciated. We got the pink salmon and can I just say it was so delicious. Cooked to perfection !! The sauce on top was SUPERB. Prices were very affordable. Robert and Sheonda(our waitress) were SUPER friendly and accommodating. Robert was even kind enough to share some history of this little gem with us. It’s not often you find people willing to take time out to do that!! Highly recommend this place. Will return for sure. ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google listing offered a patio with a view of Cayuga Lake. True enough, but we did not partake as our server warned of the presence of bees. Our order: The Black & Tan (aka: black & blue) burger and a patty melt, sweet potato fries with both, water and a raspberry iced tea. The Black & Tan was huge and quite incredible! Both burger patties were cooked perfectly! The Sweet Potato Fries were great enough to write home about! Serving staff was friendly, competent and knowledgeable. The washroom could have been cleaner, but touchable surfaces were clean. And there was plenty of hot water, soap and paper towels. Overall, I'd give this place a 4 out of 5. Mostly due to the friendly staff and fantastic food. The fantastic food! I want to go back there, but maybe earlier in the year, when avoiding bees won't prevent a great view on the patio.

I would definitely give this place another try as they seem very well-meaning, and it wasn’t terrible by any means. The view is wonderful from on the patio. I had breakfast here with my daughter before her college tour, and we got the steak and eggs, and the quiche of the day. Our waiter seemed very inexperienced, but really nice. He didn’t think to have salt and pepper or sugar on the table when I ordered coffee, and was slow to respond when I asked, (even though items were within reach) so I ended up retrieving the items myself from another table. I had ordered a side of bacon, and he seemed surprised when I reminded him partway through the meal that I had done so. It was another nearly 10 minutes before I got it but it was delicious. I can’t unfortunately say the same for the quiche, which was over baked and completely lacking in flavor. My daughter’s home fries were cold and underdone, mine were fine because I had asked for them extra crispy. Her steak and eggs otherwise were good. Some of the dishes around us that I saw the other customers get looked quite good, so we will definitely give this place another try.

Went up to Ithaca with family for the weekend and opted to dine local instead of going to another chain restaurant. This is a really cute spot overlooking Cayuga Lake with reasonably priced meals. Despite how busy it was, we were seated fairly quickly & Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend!
