The hotel itself is basic. The rooms are small and minimalist. There is a TV, fan and split unit air conditioning system in each bedroom. The mattress was firm, which I prefer. The rooms are clean, and the staff friendly and they do try to accommodate requests and offer help for guests when requested. The best part of the hotel is the proximity to the HICC. The distance is easily covered on foot in under 10 minutes. The vast majority of the guests that I saw during my stay were attending conferences there. Just across the road is a well stocked supermarket. A short distance on is the main road, with various shops and several restaurants. Breakfast was a simple buffet style affair, with a small selection of Indian dishes, usually with some form of roti. It changed most days so I never felt bored. There's also sliced bread, butter and jam, if you prefer. On evenings, David's opens up with a small crowd gathering for a quick meal. The food was very enjoyable. If you are going to a conference in HICC, I would recommend this budget hotel, especially if the novotel is full.
