Fine Dining, as the name suggests comprises of food, service & atmosphere, all of these components are offered to the patrons to the finest level. It particularly has a strong focus on quality ingredients, presentation, and immaculate service. Moreover, this particular segment is growing at a healthy rate in Hyderabad city as well. Ohris is one such renowned chain that boasts of the top theme-based restaurants & hotels in Hyderabad, the culinary legacy for which was laid down by Ravi Ohri in the year of 2000. Ohri's is now two decades old & still staying strong in the foodservice industry. Be it 100 Degrees, 1857, 70MM, Ohri’s Boulder Hills, De Thali, Cafe Loop, Chowpatti, or for that matter any of Ohri’s other restaurants, all of them offer a sumptuous fine dining experience with some theme associated with it. Ohri's Tansen is one such theme-based fine dining restaurant where food united with Sufi & art. Tansen is all about providing the patrons a royal grandeur dining experience. As you enter, there is a pathway with huge pillars on both sides that leads you to the seating area. Moreover, there is a special place for musicians who sing ghazals. Even the service staff at Tansen are dressed like khansamah of courts in the earlier dynasties. Ohris Tansen is located in the Ohris Jalavihar campus on the Necklace road with close proximity to Khairatabad MMTS. We happened to visit this place for lunch on a weekday and this being my first visit to Tansen, I was totally excited and looking forward to having a great experience. The entire dining experience started from the moment we entered the premises of Tansen thereby transporting them back in time of Maharajas. We started off the fare with 'Marag' which is a yogurt-based Hyderabadi lamb soup, served with bread was the right start we were looking for, the lamb chunks were tender, succulent and almost fell apart. Moreover, ghee and cream gave the rich and fragrantly flavorful taste. From the appetizers, we got Dahi ke Kebab, Veg Cheese Kurkure, Lahori Murg Tikka; dahi ke kebab was deep fried pieces stuffed with hung curd & paneer which is surely a popular pick. A few more to add up were Jhinga E Tinka, Dum Machi Patrawali, Mutton Shikampuri & Paneer Dum Roll, clearly, Mutton shikampuri swept the show as the tender mashed mutton pieces completed got mixed when consumed. Even the paneer dum roll which had shallow-fried rolled paneer stuffed with veggies and cheese tasted really good and is another recommended pick from the menu here. Dum Patravali Machi had steamed fish Wrapped in banana leaf tasted really good as well. Moving onto the mains, we got Mahi Kaliya, Behmati Murg, Jhinga lebabdar & Mutton Rogan Josh, the rogan josh was tasted really apt in terms of flavors & texture, well-balanced going well with assorted varieties of bread from 'Roti ki Tokri'. Even the Jhinga Lebabdar tasted really nice as it was a creamy rich prawn’s preparation, sautéed in rich tomato gravy. Winding up the fare with desserts, we got Phirni, Baked Gulab Jamun & Jauzi Halwa; clearly, Jauzi Halwa was the winner amongst the desserts as all the components like milk, ghee, sugar, saffron, jauzi were clearly distinct & is surely a recommended dessert from the menu here at Tansen. Overall, Tansen is a place wherein one can experience the amalgamation of perfectly cooked Mughlai cuisine clubbed with dazzling lights, with an ambiance that will surely win your heart.

So , this place is one of my favorites in the city and I'll never get bored of visiting this place. It's a perfect place for family dinners and a perfect place for a romantic dinner too. The ambience is royal which has walls carved beautifully. The entrance is beautiful with a huge gate which has a antique look to it too. We started off with mocktails, 1. Chatka Orange - This mocktails is a perfect blend of orange and the masala which makes it tastes amazing. 2.Ohri's Delight - I love pomegranate and this drink is a fusion of pomegranate , fresh mint and lime and just a perfect appetizer. 3. Fruit Punch - This mocktail was made of fresh fruits and it just tasted delicious. A must try. 4.Minty Cumumber - This was the mocktail I had twice because I simply loved it. It's a blend of Cumumber with mint leaves and my favorite. A must try. 5. Pineapple cooler - This drink is for pineapple lovers and tasted amazing. For starters we ordered , 1. Makai Chatpata - Its crispy corn which was tossed in roasted spices and tasted different and amazing. It will not disappoint you at all. A must try. 2.Paneer Dum Roll - My favorite starter here, the rolls are so yummy. Definitely a must try and you should not miss this when you are at tansen. 3. Dahi Ke kebab - This was so soft and unique and I loved them. They tasted perfect. 4.Ghee Roast Paneer - The paneer was so soft and this starter has a different taste as it is roasted with mangalorean chilli and spices and was delicious. 5. Lal Mirchi Ka paneer tikka - This is everyone's favorite and it was really delicious. A must try . For the main course , I had Kofta which was the best curry I had ever till date . Their signature curry with masala kulcha made my lunch beyond perfect. The biryani here has the right amount of spices in it and was really delicious. For desserts we ordered, My favorite part of the lunch was their desserts and all the desserts were so yummy. 1. Jauzi Halwa - I'm in love with this dessert, just a perfect way to end your meal. Trust me , I didn't stop having this dessert till the end. 2. Malai ghewar - This dessert can be improved. 3.Baked Gulab Jamun - My favorite, this was the best dessert and was heavenlicious. 4. Sakora Phirni - A must try. I just loved this dessert. The staff here is courteous and pro-active with professional ettequies. They were very humble. The management here manages everything so well. Would love to visit this place infinity number of times. Cheers !

This is a great place for fine dining. Food: 5/5 Taste: 5/5 Just perfect Quantity: 5/5 every dish should serve 4 adults. Texture: 5/5. Every dish has some unique blend. Quality: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5 Live music performance takes place here every evening. Lighting and store design is in a typical Mughal style architecture. The glasses for drinking are very unique. They are designed in a retro style. Staff: 4/5 Professionalism: 5/5 Serving time: 4/5 they usually take 30 minutes which is more than ideal time of 20 minutes

Loved the food and the ambience which feels Royal. Tried the biryani and one of the chicken gravy item which were superb. Specially fell in love with the biryani - best I have tasted in Hyderabad so far. Coming back to the ambience, it feels like you are in a Royal Courtyard. Missed the live music which I believe happens during dinner time. They have valet parking as well just like most of the restaurants in Hyderabad. Thankfully we have booked the table in advance otherwise the waiting time was around 30-45 mins!!

Tansen Ohri’s Restaurant review : Royalty in every inch. Location: Just beside Jalavihar. It offers À la carte. Price - Slightly expensive Interiors - Excellent Food quality - Good. Car parking - valvet parking Drinks - alcohol available Serving experience - Excellent Space : can accommodate max 100 persons at one time. Music : good. Live music is awesome. Waiting time : 10-15 mins Best to order : I ordered mutton biryani which was one of the best that I have tasted. It was good overall experience. Could be better - more Dessert options and buffet menu.

Would be in the top 3 restaurents if I could recommand someone too. Great place which I was really late visit to. Highly or could just say book a day before to go there. The service was great and full satisfied with the food. The welcome drinks was good served according to wish with or without ice. The starters are master piece and would beg all to have paneer cheese roll beacuse that was such soft and great stuffing. The service was quick and butter rotis were soft and cut into very small pieces. Main course was good not at all spicy food or biryani was sobar. There would be live music in arab style and sing songs on request for occasions. Live photographers who take pictures on request and give them in a ohris style memory envelop card for 50/- each. The parking is good but the valent parking doesn’t come to take usually. The waiting is high snd there no place for to wait for long time. People shift to other orhis usually if there is much waiting time.
