Nara Thai Dining

Came midday the place was empty, but their ToGo orders are nonstop that’s how you know the food is good. Sat at the bar for lunch. Since I was the only one dining in, I got my food fast & it was steamy good!!! I typically try the same thing at every Thai restaurant (Pad Kee Mao or Pad See Ew) & the flavors were perfection. Good portion of food. They open till 930 so I could definitely see myself returning for dinner or getting takeout. Atmosphere is spacious, cute family dining style. Many sculptures & dim lights. Really cute spot.

Nara has been my favorite date-night spot for years. The food is phenomenal, and in the 8+ years that I've been a customer, I've never had a bad experience. I know it seems unlikely that some of the state's best Thai food would be in unsuspecting Humble Texas, but trust me. I've been all around--no other restaurant gets close. DO NOT cheat yourself by not trying it!

I am editing my review after 4 years without visiting Nara Thai. Four years ago, it was so disappointing that I said I would never come back. However, passing by this week, and the lack of new options around the area, I decided to try it again. I was surprised! The service was completely different and the lady gave us some good recommendations from the menu. The food was delicious and I had a great time with my friends. The beef cashew nuts plate is well served and comes with a side rice. The shrimp is exceptional and very flavored. I also liked the new payment method using a QR code, so no risk of having your credit card number stolen.

I’ve eaten here many times and the food is always good. If you can, dine in. Delivery isn’t worth it as the portions seem smaller and it isn’t as good as it is fresh from the kitchen. The non-breaded proteins are better (pan fried garlic chicken vs breaded orange chicken). The breaded chicken used to be good but now has too much breading and grease. The mango sticky rice is delicious. Prices are a little higher than average. But not so bad that I won’t come here again. (The pic is what is left of my non-breaded fried garlic chicken. I ate about half and have enough for another meal when I dine in. I get spice level 4 which is enough to make my nose run so if you don’t like spicy, take it down a level to two).

I Love this place! They always have very attentive and prompt service. Today I started with the Fresh Rolls, shrimp and chicken with veggies, with a peanut and also a sweet pepper dipping sauce. I could eat two orders of these, as a meal. My sister had an Eggplant and Basil dish with chicken for her protein. She took part of it home for supper ,as the portion was so large. My mom and I had the Pad Ke Mao. Mine had chicken and I requested a Mild seasoning for heat ,which had a bit of a bite (I'm older and can't handle the heat like I used to) . It was perfect. My mom had hers with Tofu and no heat. She and I both enjoyed our dishes. Next time I will probably have Fresh Rolls and Tom Kha a coconut based soup, very delicious, or maybe a different Curry. I have had the Yellow Curry with chicken and it is really good. I want to give the others a try. I gave 3 stars on the atmosphere,as the a/c was out and they had to rely on a spot cooler(not their fault) GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY! IT IS GREAT!!!
