Ole Still Cafe

Just finished playing at this course. It was a nightmare. People walking the course for exercise and talking so load that you could not concentrate. The golf course Marshall every time he came around he wood sit and push the gas on the gas golf cart while we were trying to tee off or putting. And he even answered his phone and talked on it while we were trying to tee off one time. No golf etiquette what so ever. Probably the last time we play this course.

I play here almost every week. This is fast becoming one of the nicest courses in the area. Beautiful setting and the course conditions get better all the time. Never gets old playing here as the layout and terrain always make it a challenge. 4 sets of tee boxes so anyone can find the level of play that works for them. Great people who staff it and if you have the time the lunches at the clubhouse are excellent. If you played it some time ago, you need to come out again soon cause its probably the best its ever been right now!

I played the course for the first time on October 23rd with my daughter - the front nine plus 10 through 12. I was pleasantly surprised by how I found the course, knowing it had challenges in the past and that the new ownership has been working hard to improve the conditions. To me it was very playable and worth the fees to play. The range is excellent, could grass and reasonable for range balls. I like that there is a concerted effort to remove trees which will bring the sun to the grass and improve the turf quality. With good play and the revenue to go along with it, this course is only going to get better. I did like the layout, many fun and challenging holes. It wasn't too long, but it is a bit on the tight side. The greens are acceptable, and I was told getting better. The staff was nice and the general atmosphere very pleasant. Bottom line, we will play it again.

After golfnow coupon I only paid $16.49. Worth every penny of that. I would be good at $25, no more. Whomever is leaving recent 5 star reviews of the greens must be getting paid to do so. The greens are not completely non puttable but many spots that are. The majority of greens, I'd estimate 85% is good, but the spots that aren't are bumpy huge divot like spots that you can't putt over. Fairway is more Hardman then lush, but still very playable. Dormat right now because of colder weather. Staff is friendly. Carts are good. They are doing improvements. Cutting down and burning trees, repaving cart path in places, so they are showing that they care. I would wait until.the spring to play. Not worth more then $25 right now. Place would be absolutely amazing if they would cut down tress to give more views of the lake. You can glimpses of it but if they would open up the views it would be worth paying $35 just for the views alone.
