Spring House Restaurant

Nice "hole in the wall" breakfast, brunch and lunch spot. They do also have dinner options but they close a little early around 4pm on a weekend. A lot of different menu selections are available. A little something for everyone. Love the running model train that tours the restaurant while you eat. The home potatoes and sausage were excellent. Service was fast and courteous. Service staff was wearing masks and they have built in plexiglass deviders between booths. This allows for more privacy when eating. Prices were reasonable. Would definitely visit again to try some more menu options.

I love it when my husband and I find a good mom & pop restaurant and this one is definitely a gem. The reviews were great and it wasn't that busy when we went, so we were more than happy to try it. They offer your typical American breakfast (we were in the mood for corned beef hash) which come in the perfect portion size. The food was cooked the way we wanted it and the waitresses were really nice. Ask them to run the train overhead.

I'm sorry to say that it was very disappointing. I ordered the meatloaf, gravy on the side, with mashed potatoes and green beans. The meatloaf had no taste at all, the mash potatoes were very dry and the green beans had no flavor either. A good cook would taste the food before serving it to the customers. At least add some salt to the water you use to boil the green beans. I cannot even describe the meat used in the meatloaf but it was disgusting. Now I know why they smother it with gravy. The only thing that was good was the split pea soup. Eventhough I was given a discount for the food, it doesn't compensate for the bad taste it left in my mouth and the disappointment. I don't recommend the meatloaf to anyone.

I had the pepper steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, medium rare. The steak was pretty good with the green peppers and onions but the gravy was just ok. I also ordered iced tea and it was the worst I ever had in a restaurant! It was basically water with a tiny tint of color with absolutely no tea flavor! My husband ordered an omelet with hashbrowns and it was good. We were seated in a booth and the table seemed too big for the seats so we were a little crammed. I will say the waitress was the sweetest thing and never stopped smiling. I may go back because the food was good and our friends like to go there. I would just order water or a different drink. Also, the little train, going around the ceiling, is a nice added touch.
