Chagall's Restaurant

Went there for breakfast. The service was good and attentive but the food was absolutely dreadful. I had eggs Benedict with fries. The eggs were a little undercooked and the hollandaise was broken and thin. There was a ridiculous amount of paprika and dried parsley on it which ruined the dish. I would give 2 stars for the friendly service but I would give zero for the food.

I went there for lunch Dec 10, 2019 with a group. I ordered the California clubhouse panini for $14.00 and it was just awful. The turkey in the sandwich did not taste fresh and the sandwich was way too dry. (It should at least be served with gravy to dip it in). The fries that came with the meal were delicious and the Server was okay. I would not eat there again.

A few options for local craft beer and great food! I actually ordered the local IPA on tap and it was out, so my waitress brought another Ontario-made option in a can, just in case, rather than coming empty-handed. When she brought the bill, she explained that they didn't seem to have a price for it and she charged me half of what I would have expected to pay! Glad I chose to leave Honest Lawyer for this place instead. I had the turkey burger to eat and it was delicious, too!

The service was great but the breakfast was terrible. The spinach egg white omelette had almost a full cup of goats cheese in the middle. After the third fork full of nothing but warm goats cheese, I started to feel queasy. The other ingredients, egg and spinach, made up only about 10% of the omelette. Goats cheese is far too strong of a flavour to be the main ingredient. The coffee was cold and the toast was dry and brittle. Not to mention it took a really long time considering there was only one other table of 2 in the restaurant. I expected better for just under $30 for breakfast.

Great selection of wine coupled with decent sized proportions. The food was very flavourful and the service responsive. If you are attending an event at the First Ontario building it is literally linked. I do suggest you make a reservation on event night as the restaurant attracts a crowd. The restroom is inconvenient in its location; as it is literally not in the restaurant but across for second floor elevators. So if you are solo, use in advance to entering the restaurant. Nice folks. Recommended.

The worst! This was an out of town visit staying at the Sheraton hotel. We decided to eat here instead of the other restaurants in the area. Big mistake! We made reservations for 6 pm (two hours before our show across the road) and even let the waitress know so If there was a long wait time, we could go somewhere else. When we inquired about the wait time and we were told ‘we hope to get your food out to you as soon as we can’. Waited for an hour and our appetizers (calamari) had yet to make an appearance. No communication from the waitress as to why it was taking so long. She didn’t seem too interested in doing her job. Never heard from the restaurant manager and the Sheraton Hotel manager didn’t do much to help. We left the restaurant to try to grab something from the food court in the mall which was basically our only option at this point with less than an hour to go, but by then most of the food was done and places were cleaning up. Thanks for making us wait around for over an hour with nothing to show for it.
