Epicurious Morsels

I am writing this review before the bill comes because truely - the cost doesn't matter. Each dish was a star on its own, but here's how I would rate what we had tonight : #1 Beef Short Ribs - incredible. #2 Xi'an Noodles - the flavor made me not want to share #3 Spinach Agnolatti - so comforting but extra #4 Pork Katsu - super tender and flavorful #5 Brussel Sprouts - so so good, wish they had been crispier #6 Luke's bread - so warm and yummy #7 Beef Tartare - the flavor was really good (but I'm not a tartar girlie) The dessert also incredible and they had Taylor Swift themed drinks. I had 1989, Lover and Speak Now. This is my new favorite restaurant in Halifax. Servers were wonderful. If you've made it this far down the review you need to go!!!!

Although this isn't the type of place that you stumble across (it's way too special for that), my wife and I happened to find ourselves dining at the Ostrich Club last night. Without a reservation, we sat at the bar, which was absolutely fine. The food was amazing (oysters, brussel sprouts, pasta special, beef short rib and an order of bread) and the bottle of Blomidin Cremant was a perfect accompaniment. Next time, we'll try some of the amazing looking cocktails. And we will be back. Service and atmosphere were as good as the food.

I couldn't say enough good things about it. Aside from being a regular customer, we had our post-wedding supper here. The service couldn't have been better, and the food was out of this world. Even our visitors from Toronto said it was as good or better than anything they found in the city. I already can't wait to go back!

The reality was very different from my expectations. I was thinking of an old, stodgy, classic silver service restaurant. I wasn't expecting a great vibe, good music, chatty and busy. Amazing wine selection with incredibly knowledgeable staff. The small plates are perfect for sharing and varied. However it is spendy ($12 for an Exile?!) which makes it a nice treat but not a regular haunt. Will save my pennies and go back.

Book a table before you go! This special spot in North End Halifax have experienced staff and top-notch food. I've been there a couple of times since it opened and have never been disappointed. Everything on the menu is great, and I especially enjoyed their Shakshuka. For the first time, I had dessert during brunch - the chocolate - and it was the best decision I made there. Though it's a bit pricey, it's worth the money for the food and experience. I highly recommend this place and my next stop will be for dinner.

We went to the restaurant because it was highly rated and weren’t disappointed at all. Super nice service, super delicious and tasty dishes, wonderful cocktails etc. If we would have to add a constructive critic then only that the plates could be changed after each dish in order to avoid the mixture of different sauces and spice. Highly recommend to go there!
