El Cielo

Went there pretty early since I saw they were open thought why not. It's a shame the service was bad because the food was actually pretty good. I prefer actual beans in my refried beans and not a pure, but the flavor was good. The service was not good. I walked in and waited almost five minutes to even be acknowledged because the waitress was busy chatting with the cook. The cook looked at me twice, and there was no acknowledgment. At least say I'll be with you in a sec. Something. Ordered my food and forgot to add guacamole. So after I ran my card, I figured I would just pay cash for the guac. She rings it up and it's 3 dollars and some change. I hand the lady a 20 and she gives me 16. No receipt she threw that away so I don't know how much change it was, and not trying to be petty, but 4 dollars for 2oz of guac is ridiculous. There is no sign saying we don't give change, she didn't hardly say anything to me except totals. Even if it's only 15 cents you just taking my change and not saying anything is just kind of rude. I don't know if she just took it as a tip, or if the restraint doesn't have change. (That should be stated or posted somewhere). 4 dollars for 2oz is crazy, I have never paid that much so little. I could have gotten a whole burrito for that. She didn't tell me the sizes of guacamole or what they cost just charged me and the price on the menu just states the price is seasonal. Still, I'm just disappointed.

The service was very dissapointing. The waitress seemed very careless we waited a while just to get our drinks while we noticed she was walking around doing other things and then she went behind the counter having a conversation and laughing as we watched her. I thought she was actually having the horchata made then I saw her finally pouring from a container and I quickly realized we were on her time. The most ackward and disgusting part was when I got my “torta de chorizo” and I ordered strips of bacon 🥓 on the side and didn’t get them… SO she came out to tell me there were small pieces of bacon inside my torta and started TAPPING my torta w the menu’s she was holding in her hand. That is just dirty and disgusting I couldn’t believe she did that after letting me know the cook “got mad” because I said the bacon was not there. Was that really necessary? She had no manners nor customer service skills you don’t touch other peoples food period especially w menus so many others have touched disgusting!! I am attaching a pic of the torta. Now if u know anything about tortas they should NEVER be SOGGY!! The bread was so soggy as if it had been in microwave that it was hard to even hold. the cook and the waitress need to find another job clearly this is not for them!

The food is some of the best Mexican food I've found in Greeley. The restaurant has a nice layout and the staff was fast and friendly. I got the large combination and added a taco to it so I could get a good idea of their flavor. The taco was really good and had a light crispy corn shell, the tostada was decent but could have used a bit more toppings, and the burrito was good too. The enchilada was not that great honestly, the sauce tasted like it came out of a can. My wife had the Alambre which was really good, full of meat, and the portion on that is filling. Finally there was the Chile relleno plate. It was a crispy relleno with beans and rice. It was a pretty good relleno and I would eat it again. The prices are on the high side of average but not as bad as some other "Mexican grills".

My family and I love the food here but the service isn’t exactly good. We were sitting at our table for thirty minutes without anyone taking our order or even giving us water. But everyone else around us who would get there after us received drinks and their order taken within 5 minutes of getting there. We tried to wave down a couple waitresses but they said they would get a different waitress for us. We waited for another ten minutes before leaving.

Usually everything about going to El Cielo is a good experience but today the service was awful!! Food was good, I'll give them that. There were probably 5 women actively working but they weren't really doing much. At any given time there was probably 6 tables with customers. We got sat and it took about 5 minutes for them to bring us a high chair, then another 10 minutes before anyone took our drink order and brought us chips. We watched as they themselves had drinks delivered and stood behind their little counter drinking them while food was coming up and just sat under the heat lamps. They continued to stand back there talking to each other drinking their drinks, paying no mind to the food or customers. We watched a couple come in and wait so long without any service that they ended up walking out because no one greeted them or sat them. Again, all while these women just stood behind the counter talking. We ordered sopapillas while we were still eating our food and they took sooooo long that we almost canceled the order. Perception is very important at any customer service job and the way these women worked today was very unprofessional and came across like they didn't care at all. I'm usually a very patient person but today my party was very disappointed with the service. We almost walked out ourselves because of how long everything was taking and how negligent the waitresses were being.
