Doug's Diner

We visited Doug's diner on 2/6 at around 11am. We loved the Doug's Diner in Thornton and we were excited to have a location in Greeley where we just moved. Our server Kara was good. The food was delicious and relatively fast. We had discussed the $1 mimosas and tequila sunrises with our server and we were surprised when we got charged full price for the mimosas. The manager who handled the situation was very rude, argued back with us and overall completely unprofessional. She tried saying we didn't make it clear we wanted the dollar one and that the menu has a $4 mimosa, which we definitely did not receive. The three of us have worked in the service industry for decades and were completely shocked with the managers unprofessionalism and approach to handling the discrepancy. Had she of handled it differently, we would have made this place a regular spot but we will not be returning. We understand mistakes happen but it was not rectified appropriately. If the manager doesn't like her job, she should probably leave because she is negatively impacting a nice establishment.

We came in at 8am on a Saturday, with a fairly large group, and the place wasn't as crowded as I had expected. Service was quick, food was good - bacon was delicious, gravy set before I got my plate, eggs were cooked to perfection (and in real butter) - I didn't get hot cakes, but others at my table said they looked and tasted just like grandma's. By the time our group was leaving, the place was crowded. I would definitely go back. Attached is a picture of the Hilbilly (eggs over hard).

I usually don't review after one experience, people have both good and bad days. I spend quite a bit of time downtown and for whatever reason, never ate there. The first time we stopped, we were impressed. We've stopped now 3 more times, each time seemingly excedes the last in food quality, and the last time, the staff. We will become regulars here, no doubt.
