Subway

I went in for my lunch break, not knowing the show I was about to get. No idea what his name was but my sandwich artist, and I can’t stress artist enough comes out does a whole show with building my sandwich including fancy building and handeling if utensils at one point may have even pulled a rabbit out of a hat! I left completely impressed! 10/10 highly recommend

Stopped in 2 get sandwiches. When arriving a women came out from the back, she was very pleasant, however did not understand what I was asking for - two foot-long sandwiches on italian bread. Not a big deal, we worked together and figured it out. It was very clear that one of the two rolls was old and stale as it was flaking apart and looked nothing like every other fresh roll in the bread case. I hated to do it but I asked if I could get a fresh roll… knowing my daughter would likely not eat the sandwich if it was on stale bread, I reluctantly asked. Yikes! Massive confusion. Eventually she went to the back and an older teen/young man came out… not pleasant. I explained to him that I simply wanted a fresh roll for my sandwich. He said “I have no idea how old the rolls” and started to walk away. I stopped him and said to him again I’m not asking you how old they are I’m simply asking for a fresh one, if he had even looked at the roll he would have noticed what I was talking about but he didn’t bother, he just continued to walk into the back. The sweet woman trying to make the sandwich could see my frustration and did everything she could to understand. A minute or two later the kid from the back came around front again, she seemed to get his permission to get a new roll and proceeded to take all of the meat that she had put on the old roll back into the meat case and then took that piece of bread that had all of my meat on it and put back into the bread case 😳. Moving on. We managed to get through 2 very simple sandwiches and now it is time to wrap and leave. I am watching as she takes a knife that was in a solution of some kind out, it’s sopping wet and has old food on it (looked to be mayo) - shook it in the air to remove the water and then proceeded to scrape each side of the knife on the edge of the counter to attempt to remove the remaining mayo or whatever it was. I couldn’t even speak fast enough before she cut the sandwich in half. It took everything I had not to just walk out. Keep in mind her co worker, now right beside her, did not assist her in any way - he knew exactly what he was doing as another customer came in and he quickly and efficiently helped that customer. I stopped her before she attempted to cut the second sandwich. Got home, trimmed the edges off my daughters sandwich where the dirty knife was used… and they ate. Bonus - neither kid got sick. Never ever again will I stop in here! Subway in Westminster is impeccably clean always! The owner and many teens working are always very pleasant and they help one another out. The owner of the Gardner subway should perhaps use the Westminster store as an example of customer service, employee training and sanitary standards.

Horrible customer service I understand hiring people of all ethnicities but when as a customer you dont know what you are being charged for cause you don’t understand what they are saying its awful They also barely talk to customers and are very awful at portions i have to get charged for double meat cause they never put a good amount first They are always rolling there eyes and its very rude Manager needs to figure this out Im going to the one in walmart from now on

Food was good. Staff was probably overworked/understaffed, as they both looked tired and like they needed a break. They were polite and efficient. I have been going here for decades, even worked there under different management, so I do not hold anything against the shop itself, just a sign of the current times.
