Wendy's

I knew they were busy when I saw the line wrap around the building but it does not excuse what I experienced. I ordered a dave's double, special since I didn't want a few toppings. Usually this isn't a big deal but today apparently that's just impossible. I was given a single small hamburger when I ordered through the drive through. I went inside and asked for an exchange, perfectly content to wait a few minutes and get a new one. Apparently that's difficult as well because I waited over 20 minutes before I was given a replacement. Excitedly, I bit into my burger in my car to find they didn't even make it correctly. What a joke. The only redeeming quality was the manager who gave me a refund.

My Son of Baconator was more- than-delicious; fries and lemonade were good. Drive--thru service time was reasonable especially for middle of lunch hour, and employees were courteous and friendly. However, I couldn't understand the amount over the loudspeaker, so I didn't realize he had automatically upgraded my order to large drinks when I requested lemonades rather than sodas. First, I would much rather be asked if I want to upgrade to large! Second, when I asked for a cupholder for the drinks at the next window, I was told they had just run out. I was in my son's Honda which has only 2 cupholders...both of which already had drinks in them. The only box the much- appreciated employee could find was much larger than my order. So I was precariously balancing a box-that-was-too-large-to-get-over-the-steering-wheel (with the 3 large drinks in it) on the open window with my left hand while driving a 5- speed to a parking space that was around a rather sharp curve in a busy parking lot! Humorous, but dangerous! Since I'm all about reducing waste, I have no problem with taking responsibility for providing my own cupholders. Note to self (and Wendy's): In this unexpected instance, it would have been much safer to have had an employee bring the box out, or set it back till I got parked and could come in to get it.

The ice skating rink they call a dining room makes it hard to stand in line. Got a spicy chicken sandwich that was still raw in the middle. No paper products in the bathrooms so bring your own TP. Their consistency to low standards is unsurpassed by all other fast food joints. But at least the GM was in the dinning room so he could watch it all happen and do nothing about. Congratulations Burt, you have the worst resturant in Gainesville. You couldn't pay me to go back. (Update) The food made my wife very sick. Threw up the meal after she got home. Avoid this restaurant.
