Nick's was awesome! It's off the beaten path so most if not all of the people there were locals. Oysters were outstanding and they offer gator tails if you want them. Prices were in line with others in the area. The view of the bay is nice. What was unique is that the house next door has chickens and roosters, a fairly large pig with three piglets so we got to watch the pig walk in front of the bay window. You just don't get that character everywhere. I highly recommend trying them.

Stopped in for lunch. Great view of Choctaw Beach and the food was hot and tasty! The waitress was friendly and helpful. The cook came out and gave us some extra fries and asked how the food was. Great roadside restaurant!

As a Walton County native, I’ve been eating at Nick’s on the Bay in Freeport for decades. I love their fish tacos 🌮 Fried Green Tomatoes 🍅 are delicious as are the crab claws. Fried Mullet is great as well!
Moderately priced. *Important to note that they’re open Wednesday thru Sunday. 📸 Give them a try !

They go above and beyond here. I planned a surprise for my parents anniversary and Dianne could not have been more helpful, caring, and and all around amazing person. She and the team really made it a special evening. 10 stars!!!

Food was great. Calamari, shrimp tacos, hush puppies. Good sweet tea. Servers were friendly and hustled. Only thing I would change is more sauce varieties especially for the fish tacos and calamari. They may have had it, I just didn't see any or know about any.

The best Calimari I've ever had. Beautiful view, but the animals outside ruin the outdoor atmosphere for me, personally. The indoor atmosphere is that of a Southern grandma's country kitchen on Saturday afternoons. They are Good Ole Auburn fans, so that earned them that 5th star. War Eagle!

Food was very good ( except the tacos, pass on those) the servers were nice and prompt. The restaurant is right in the bay and has great views. Laid back relaxed atmosphere. It looked like you could literally pull up to the restaurant in your water craft and have bite to eat.
Also there are chickens and pigs next door so that was a hit with my city kids.
We will return!

Fish was locally caught, and cooked exquisitely. They make their own tarter sauce and it is hands down the best I've ever had. The staff are just friendly country folk. Moved to Florida about 6 months ago and I have now found my favorite restaurant. Beautiful view of the bay. If you're in the area this place should definitely be on your list of places to visit.
