Han Ah Reum

My neighborhood Korean supermarket. Prices are on the higher side but once in a while you may come across a deal. Always clean and organized and it's leisurely to shop in there. I pick up random snacks and try out different products there once in a while. I would go there too if i want bulgogi, sashimi/seafood to make for dinner. But won't be shopping there on a regular, I'd rather do my bulk shopping at shoprite.

🤫 40% cheaper for many Korean staples than h marts in Manhattan. I'm always horrified at how much the prices have gone up at h mart Manhattan locations since covid when I stop in for banchan and other small items. So for bulk purchases I head to this location; the savings on a bag of rice and bucket of kimchi alone covers the zipcar (who wants to schlep 20lb bags of rice thru the subway). With the big - FREE! - parking lot in the back of the store, I've never had an issue with parking. And there's a bigger stash of fresh items like yakbap, onigiri, pajeon, & manju here. The 40% price differential doesn't apply across the board; banchan are pretty consistent with what I see on W32nd Manhattan. Weekdays are a much calmer time to go! And while instacart shoppers use this hmart, those prices are higher to the degree that any savings are negated.
