We went here for lunch to try their spicy Sauerkraut, fish soup which was very good. Very comparable to Fish for you which remains our favorite by a very slim margin. The other dishes we ordered was a duck blood dish, very good and a preserved meat with cauliflower. Very tasty. We were the only customers except for another couple. They have a lot of other dishes that we would want to go back and try. Highly recommended.

Amazing Szechuan in flushing. Frog legs, Chicken, White Fish, and Beef Szechuan are all amazing. The house made peanut Szechuan noodles are some of the best noodles I’ve ever had. Every dish is worth a try! Highly recommend checking this place out.

I have been wanting to dine here for 2yrs and it did not disappoint. The owner is from Chengdu and the chef is a Master Chef (an official designation in China, not a self-appointed or TV title) from Sichuan with over 40+ yrs of professional culinary experience in China who imports 80% of the ingredients directly from Sichuan, so there is an excellent reason why the food you will eat here tastes far better (fresher, intense, no corners cut) than many other Sichuan in the city. There are a few other Sichuan places on this level run by mainland immigrants, and they are all appropriately priced ($$) and good for special occasions.
However Alley 41 is unique for its flavor and price point because it offers some innovative creations by this talented chef. Meaning different dishes than you often see at the popular spots, but all with the familiar flair and skill of the region—a welcome switch up for Sichuan abroad that you almost never find outside the province, let alone the U.S.
And the portions are family style and generous! It doesn’t get better than this. Service was attentive and excellent as well.

The best Sichuan food I have tried in Flushing NYC.
The first dish I ate and recommended to my friend is its whole fish w. chef spicy black bean sauce. After they open the foil paper around this dish, they helped us to add hand-made noodle with it; it tasted so good, the fish meat is so crispy and noodle so tasty.
That day we also ordered their Chef's special tea smoked duck (half). Far above my expectation and never thought I would love duck in this way. The duck meat is so tight and crispy. my whole mouth smelled good.
My daughter loved its setting after getting into this restaurant. The inside of restaurant is totally different feeling from outside flushing typical street scene. Service was excellent and quick.

Alley 41 is a fantastic restaurant located in Flushing, Queens. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, with a modern and trendy decor that is perfect for a casual dinner with friends or a romantic night out. The menu offers a wide variety of Asian fusion dishes, with a focus on Taiwanese cuisine. The dishes are beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend trying the popcorn chicken, crispy pork belly bao, and the spicy beef noodle soup. The drinks menu is also impressive, with a great selection of cocktails, beer, and wine. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout the meal.
Alley 41's signature dish, the Golden Soup Sichuan Fish Fillet, is a must-try for anyone visiting the restaurant. This dish features tender and flavorful boneless fish fillets, simmered in a rich and aromatic broth made with a blend of spices and herbs, including Sichuan peppercorns. The soup is perfectly balanced, with a hint of sweetness from the added vegetables, and a spicy kick from the chili oil. It's no wonder this dish has gained so much popularity among customers and even caught the attention of the prestigious Michelin Guide, earning Alley 41 a coveted Michelin Bib Gourmand nomination in 2020. This recognition is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to using high-quality ingredients and creating delicious, authentic Taiwanese cuisine. So be sure to give the Golden Soup Sichuan Fish Fillet a try on your next visit to Alley 41!
Alley 41 is a must-visit spot for anyone looking for delicious food and a fun dining experience in Flushing.

The cumin beef dish had plenty of beef and it was quite tender. The cumin flavor was strong but could be a little bit stronger. We really liked the peppercorn chicken soup. It was really flavorful and numbing and you get a lot of chicken pieces in it. The dumplings in chili oil were a bit of a let down. It was watery inside and not too filling

I didn't think much about this place because it was tucked away from Flushing's bustling main street with a lowkey storefront entrance. Just one of those local restaurants trying to get by right? I was wrong.
I was pretty impressed by the quality of the food, especially their string beans, and although it is a simple dish, they managed to elevate it with the right amount of seasoning and crispness. They also managed to make good steamed fish - a dish I rarely look forward to because many restaurants don't have the patience to bring it to standard but I was surprised by how well done it was. Overall the food remains authentic but I noticed subtle hints that appease the western palate. This is one of the few restaurants you should not "judge by its cover" and it made a very solid point. Their menu is extensive and I look forward to coming back to try more of their menu.
FYI, I noticed this restaurant's service and staff are not as friendly to non-locals and ABCs.

It was our 2nd visit to Alley 41 with a group of five since we have read lots of great reviews on social media and they have won the list of Michelin Plate for four years.
We got Chicken Dumplings with Chili Sauce, Double Cooked Pork, Szechuan Braised Beef, Braised Port Intestines, Fried Rice and Fish Filet in Sour Soup. The portion was okay with a reasonable price.
The food was overall delicious, especially the chicken dumplings which were flavorful and fried rice which was cooked perfectly. We were going to try their Cumin Lamb but they ran out of it already, so we might plan to visit again.

Update 9/16/22:
We ordered a couple of different items the second time. Preserved veggie fish soup, beef with bamboo shoot and cauliflower. The beef and bamboo shoot was extremely salty and the restaurant allowed us to change to something else. This time the food didn't really wow us. Everything was more meh 😑.
I'm actually surprised we haven't been here in all the years of living here. The flavors here are really good and are a reasonably priced for the portion. We ordered the twice cooked pork, soy bean paste fish and handmade pancake (non scallion). The only thing was that it took a very long time for the fish. We will definitely come back again to try other dishes though.

This is a very cozy place. The waiter is very helpful and can help you to order. My wife and I don't eat meat so he helped us order the Fried Eggplant dish without the meat. The couple next table over can't take the heat but liked our Spicy Tofu so the waiter helped them by telling the kitchen to cut out the heat. It was a fine dining experience for me and my wife.
