Dickey's Barbecue Pit

I loved it! I am a North Carolina native coming up on 1 year in Detroit, MI. This evening when I got off I had a taste for something different and this really hit the spot. My meal was the two meat plate. The portion of chicken and brisket was enough to take half of each home. The chicken, moist and juicy, was my favorite and I couldn't pass up a piece of PE-can pie...even though the lady pronounced it pe-cahn...😀😄😃

Sterling Heights location is terrible. Ordered a 3 meat meal carryout, and waited 20 minutes for the meal. After asking them where my take out was, they said "oh we thought you left". Mind you, I was only 3 feet from the counter, waiting for my meal. Then they reached under the counter and gave me this mess. Never again! That is pulled pork, brisket, and the jalapeño cheddar kielbasa.

The food was great, but the way the employees treated my mom was less than desirable. She ordered a curbside pickup order, she waited 10mins in her car before finally going into the store, was ignored but finally noticed and then it took another 5mins for our order to come through on the computer. And then when my mom told them she was going back in her car to wait for the order, they gave her attitude. I get these are trying times, and demands are high. But I found this very disappointing and that is why I am giving this place a low rating. Again the food was great. The service can and SHOULD be better.

Food was okay. Nothing to run home and tell mom about. Cheddar cheese and jalapeno sausage was great. The pull pork didn't have any seasoning/flavor to it without bar b que sauce. The brisket was a little over cooked. The beans where just beans hardly and bar b que sauce flavor. The onion crisp things where great can't go wrong fried onions. All in all I was not impressed. The staff was nice and friendly though.
