Safeway

I've only begun shopping at this Safeway again very recently due to a move back to the area. The store is clean and well stocked and the employees seem friendly and helpful. My major complaint is it's so hard to find anything. The aisles aren't marked very well and when I've tried to ask for help in locating items, I can't find an employee. As I said, overall, it's a nice store. It would just be awesome to be able to find things.

I went to buy a few items and covid tests. The envelopes we needed, our favorite fair life fat free milk, and the cascade platinum dishwasher packets were all marked down. I asked the pharmacist about the covid tests. He informed me that I could get up to 8 tests at no cost. The receipt said $95, but the discounts brought them down to $0. The tests were far from expiration and higher quality than i have used before. Safeway is one of only 2 grocery stores my wife and I will shop at. They always have good prices, a huge selection, and keep a nice and clean store. Even the young lady at checkout gave us a great smile as she told us to enjoy our day. She even bagged our items into our personal shopping bag for us. Such a great experience.

This Safeway, as well as every other store in this mall, had a power blackout for nearly a day a little more than a week ago. When I arrived, eight hours after the start of the power failure, the store had employees taking certain, not all, foods that needed refrigeration to the back of the store. Since the power was out throughout the store, this didn’t make sense. There was no emergency generator in the back. Well, I avoided the store for more than a week since I suspected they would sell refrigerated foods that had been unrefrigerated for half a day or more to the public. When I returned to the store, I purchased some meat which still had an expiration day almost two weeks away. Sure enough, when I opened it to cook the next day, it was clear looking at the bottom that it had been unrefrigerated and was spoiling if not spoiled. The meat in this store leaves a lot to be desired to begin with. The power outage just made it more problematic. I will never buy meat there again. I'll stick with fresh fruits, vegetables and canned goods only. It’s scary because if I had not visited the store on the day of the power outage, I would not have known about it like most people. And the store feels no obligation to inform its customers.

This is horrible Safeway. This was my first time to shop for someone after a long time. The staff is unfriendly and not helpful even though I asked for help more then 10 times in meat section. They are not organized at all. So much confusing isles. One thing is here and other is there. One in this corner the other in another corner. It was worst day ever in this store. I will never buy anything from this store nor recommend it to anyone. It’s just waste of time going there. The giant is the best store ever I can find things easily. Please go there and save your time and money. Thanks.

The don’t deserve even 1/2 star . Stupid customer service after waiting for 10 minutes finally the rep came to assist with my WesternUnion transfer . After 5 minutes from giving her all the information she needs , she told me their card machine is not working and I have to bring cash to finish the transaction. If she was smart enough she would shared this with me from the beginning . I know she is laying she does not want to do the transaction just wanted to give excuses. This is not the first time I see very bad and worst customer service with this location, will never go back again . Don’t need them there are plenty of much better grocery store .

Some staff are nice and the store has an okay selection. Major issues I have here: a lot of their produce is always close to being bad. Also, their bathroom is ALWAYS gross. It always smells like someone took a pee straight onto the floor. I go here a lot so last time I decided to look at their cleaning log. The date is marked for FIVE MONTHS AGO. Even if they never updated the date and are just doing the dailies I was here on Sunday which means it has not been updated since the previous Tuesday. Absolutely nasty. I’ve spent a lot of time working in customer service and it is a known fact you can always judge the overall cleanliness and management of an establishment based on their bathrooms. I don’t think I’ll be shopping here anymore quite honestly.
