Downtown Banya Bistro

I live in Seattle and have been a fan of Russian sauna for several years. This one is my new favorite - definitely worth the 45 minute drive. The things I like here: - The dry sauna is really hot (220F) and the cold pool is really cold. - They have a fantastic kitchen. I really liked the borscht and pelmeni. The kvass was amazing. If you try nothing else, get a pitcher of the kvass. Kvass is normally too sweet for me, but this one is perfect. - The music and atmosphere is calming and unobtrusive. - Staff are friendly and accommodating. This seems like more of a family run, owner-operated business than other more corporate spas I've been to in the area. - Venik platza is available whenever they're open. Other places I've been to only do this once or twice a month. - The other clientele tends to be quieter and more polite/respectful than other places I've been.

Banya is one of my favorite places to recharge my body and mind. The spa experience is amazing. The steam room is hot and has a lot of steam with an invigorating eucalyptus infusion. The sauna is very hot and nothing feels better than the cold plunge after sitting in the sauna for a few minutes. Their massage therapists are very skilled and I feel great afterward. Their cafe with authentic slavic food is a great change of pace and compliments the experience. I can't say enough about their friendly staff and terrific service! I feel relaxed, refreshed and well taken care of after an evening at Banya. I recommend this to everyone I know. Thank you for providing this unique experience.
