Blaze Pizza

Been to this location so many times in the past 5 years. I always go for the option to build my own pizza and I like to load mine up with tons of vegetables. The spicy vegan chorizo topping is amazing and so is their vegan cheese in small quantities. Too much of the vegan cheese feels a bit overwhelming for me. The pesto sauce is tasty but very very garlicky, so much that it always leaves a very strong odor and it feels like it takes forever for that to go away however hard you try. For that reason, I always stick to the regular red sauce. The seating area is ok. It’s a fast food joint , so don’t go with very high expectations. But I have always liked the way my pizza turns out here. Is it really pizza ? Maybe , maybe not. The answer depends on who you ask. But to me it’s some form of flatbread fast food that’s delicious. I like that they have the northwestern wildcard discount in this particular branch. I have never eaten in any other blaze outlet other than this one to make any comparisons.

The gluten and dairy free pizza was delicious - if you are VERY sensitive to either, though, I wouldn't recommend it. I'm extremely dairy allergic and had a moderate reaction after leaving (I did eat a lot of it.) So if you just have an intolerance you're probably fine, just watch out if you're extra sensitive.

As a chain concept, the Blaze experience is well designed and the toppings are plentiful and fresh. Execution can be a bit tricky depending on the market. Our local store is in a University market and as such can suffer occasionally with lax customer service however the management is solid and the employees can rise to the call when needed. Prices have risen during the Pandemic but they still fall into an acceptable bracket considering the quality and speed with which they serve. It's a little like the 9 year old Italian kid who pulls the perfect shot of espresso every time. Practice a few thousand pizzas in a 575° oven and before long you've got it down.
