El Canelo

Wanted a Mexican meal knowing that most of the time it’s favor full but what I experienced was the opposite. Great waiter but didn’t wait for us to enjoy the tortilla chips before the dinner was at the table. The dinners seams made in advanced with no taste for quick service. The fine details make the experience more enjoyable when done right. Like the stuffed peppers with a piece of cheese not melted or the ground beef cooked with no favor, no salt or pepper. Hopefully in the future you take the time to add the proper touches which will keep customers coming back for more.

My wife and I visited this restaurant today and had a very positive experience. The waitress was very nice and efficient. Our food came quickly and was excellent. I love Mexican food and I have been to lots of Mexican restaurants, and this place is just great. Reasonable prices, friendly service, good food.

One of Erie's best Mexican restaurants. The food was very good. Complimentary chips and salsa. Service was good but seating was kind of slow, but nothing to far out of the ordinary. The restaurant itself was very clean. Good social distancing practices are in place. All the servers wearing masks properly. No noses slipping out as seems to be common place at other restaurants. Definitely a place to eat at again.

Not the worst restaurant experience I've ever had, but certainly not the best. They gave my fiancée the wrong drink, we barely saw our waitress despite the restaurant not being busy, and the quality and quantity of the food, while definitely not terrible, just isn't worth the price, in my opinion. Helpful hint: if you order the five street tacos entrée, I hope you like cilantro, because 80% of your taco will be just that, with three or four little pieces of meat mixed in. They put so much of it on that I had to pick it off and pile it on my plate, and when I was done I had a little mountain of cilantro. Lol. Other than that, the tacos were okay, but not worth the $15 I paid for them. I've had better at other Mexican restaurants in Erie and Youngstown for less money. A lot of people in Erie seem to like this place and rate it highly, and perhaps they were having an off day, so maybe we'll give it another chance sometime soon and I'll change my rating. But for now, I really wasn't impressed.
