Kealani's

So first sign is that is is 9a on a Saturday and NO one is in there. It was VERY DIRTY against fire codes fans on the floor wires hanging creamer setting out. Coffee pot has not been cleaned in years. Pancakes are safe to eat and unique coconut pineapple. The only reason for 2 stars is that the girl was nice and trying to clean on the side. I now notice that google maps shows they open at 11a so that needs to be updated because they have a breakfast menu. Overall not good food not clean. Very sad it could be great spot with a unique atmosphere close to the beach seems like new management is needed.

I love this place so much! I make it a point to always schedule a stop here whenever I am in the area. The only thing keeping it from the five stars is that over the past ten years of coming here the service has gone down the drain. I don't mind the single serving of teriyaki, but the new hires are rude and or lazy. They had food trays stacked up on the side counter next to the register the entire time I was there! Also, charging me for a water cup?! Who does that? I understand the need for profit, but I'm drinking water, not soda. Don't charge me for a container for something that you can't charge me for. That's forcing me to pay for my free water. Not cool. I hope you change this policy, Kealani! Overall, great food, great prices, love the location and atmosphere. I wish there was one up in Huntington Beach!

My wife and I came for lunch. 5/20/15 at 100pm. To start with its cash only. Second there is no parking like at all. Third they messed up on my order (younger male on cash register) and told me did I want my dollar back because they gave me pork instead of beef. The guy that took our orders today has no place serving food he srcathed his hair and messed up 6+ peoples orders. The lady was awsome. The plates are horrible and fall apart as you eat. Never eat here this place should be removed from the strip. Its better if it was a vacant lot. The pork was burnt the chicken katsu was too small (size of a small mcdonald cheese burger patty) the macroine had no favor and tasted days old. Health department needs to visit this place. Dis Loco Moco brok da mout brah! I'm loving my new home in Cardiff by the Sea and Kealani's is one more reason I'm stayin'. What place do you know of that has little straw huts inside their restaurant? The food is amazing and the owner is a real sweet heart. It's my new home away from home. I just wish you were open for my Sunday hangovers :(
