La Rosa

The restaurant is one of Elgin's best "hole-in-the-wall" classic Mexican food in town. Prices are not ridiculously priced for Taco's or any dish on its menu. The place has not been updated in years as far as the lobby goes. But dont let that drive you way from well tasting food. The location is open late too so its great for late night cravings! Highly recommended...

I don't want to hurt the business so I will give it 4 stars, but the price on the menu is wrong and even though it is permitted by law it is always a downer. The food I ordered was 33% above what they had in the menu. The place needs some serious attention. If they can't afford a renovation, some paint and love would show that they care (right now it seems like they don't). Food was not bad but I would say below average. Girl at the front also didn't seem too friendly. Either care for what you are doing or more reviews like those will come. And they will be below 4 stars. Might/might not try it again. Good luck!

IYKYK! The location and inside might not be the best but the food speaks for itself. The cooks do a really good job making sure the meat is always cooked tender or however you want it. People complain about the cost but that’s happening everywhere if you’re really paying attention. Get your money’s worth in quality food here. If you want bells and whistles—go elsewhere. That’s what you’d be helping pay for anyway.
