Pop Sushi

Absolutely phenomenal! We are both call Charleston, SC home, so now that we live here it has been a struggle to find good sushi. This place knocked it out of the park with deliciousness, service, and all around fabulous! ***Update****went for a quick mid week dinner and it was AHHHH-MMMAAZZZINGGGG as usual!!

The staff get worked like you wouldn’t believe here! They are all wonderful, attentive and truly want to make sure you are having a great experience. Yes, it can get busy - so plan accordingly or consider making a reservation (that just speaks volumes on how great this place is). Their happy hour menu is wonderful and they have some great vegetarian options. Their spicy edamame is amazing! The staff all deserve a raise!!! This place knocks it out if the ball park.

Went on a Monday night ( the all night happy hour!) Had to wait 30 minutes to get seated because the place was popping! Well worth the wait! Excellent sushi! Ordered completely from the happy hour menu! Salmon, spicy ahi tuna and yellowtail maki rolls! Delicious! We also had the calamari appetizer and an octopus 2-bite. Everything was great. Best mojito I've tasted in a long time! Love the $5 tall hot sake! Very friendly to the tastebuds AND the wallet!!! Lovely staff 😄👍

We went for dinner and happened to hit happy hour. Good deals on decent sized rolls and drinks. The regular menu was a little pricey but I'm guessing on par for Durango. We also ordered fried dumplings, curry and miso ramen off the regular menu. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent.

My family and I stopped here for dinner while on vacation. They were fairly busy, so we waited for a while to get a table - no big deal. We get to our table and wait longer. When we were finally able to place our drink order, we waited still longer to order our appetizers and meal. When we finally got food is when things started to become very disappointing! One meal came out, my FIL respectfully waited on the rest of the meals. 5 minutes pass, then 10 - he finally flagged our waitress down who told us that it's really hard to coordinate hot and cold food, so it's going to be a little while longer for our sushi. We insist my FIL eats his meal, he finishes, and we're still waiting. My husband's meal comes out, again there's a wait, he decides to go ahead and eat his Sashimi platter. About the time we were ready to pay for what we'd received and leave, our 3 missing sushi rolls appear. Then an awkward and rushed 10 minutes where we shoveled sushi in our mouths as fast as we could because we'd been at the restaurant for close to 2 hours at that point. I would love to say, at least, that the food was worth the wait, but I can't 😔
