Subway

I am not a huge fan of subway. Someone gave me a gift card for a special event. While shopping at Walmart, my wife and I got hungry and remembered I had it. I was pleasantly surprised. The girl behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I got the Baja steak with pickled peppers, jalapeño peppers, red onion on the Italian herb bread. Loved the sauce and all the toppings. For Subway, the steak was good. My wife got the regular steak and cheese with a bunch of toppings. Still have more on the gift card, so I will be back. Maybe subway can change my mind about their sandwiches. Will definitely be trying the buffalo chicken when I come back.

Very rude Hispanic woman working. She could barely speak English and I have no idea how this woman got this job. She was nasty in her manners as if I was bothering her, and the vegetables looked like they were 3 days old. It took 10 minutes to make my foot long sandwich because she could barely communicate. I eventually walked away without getting my food. I will never go back there again, and I actually called corporate headquarters and complained about hiring somebody who cannot even speak English enough to make a sandwich.

It's a Subway - How can it be bad? It WASN'T bad at all. The counter staff and myself had a language barrier. But she smiled, and I smiled, and we worked it out. I can point and select, and she could nod and apply. In the end, I got the sandwich I came for, and was happy with the outcome. I use the location while shopping in the Walmart on occasion, and since it is Subway, I know I'll be back.

If I could give negative stars, I would. Got to the "pick your veggies" portion of ordering, and noticed that there were fruit flies swarming up from the tomato, banana pepper, olives, and cucumber bins. Not just one or two regular flies, like what kind of has to be expected from a Walmart restaurant, but the volume of those little flies that show up in droves that indicates that some sort of vegetable matter has gone rotten somewhere very close by. I backed off and spoke to the other Subway employee, and he basically said "Yeah... we know about them. They're not big deal...". Ew.
