Black Forest Coffee

This is mine and my besties go to when we have time to meet up!! We start with lunch and always get the Rembrandt that is always incredible with a lavender latte for me, and a mocha latte for her. After lunch we wander through the attached half price bookstore for usually 30 mins to an hour, buy a book and sometimes cards, or knickknacks before heading back to the Black Forest Coffee for dessert, another latte for me, and water for her. The desserts are absolutely amazing!! Always fresh, never tasting like the inside of a refrigerator!!! We had the white chocolate raspberry tart last time. Can't wait to go back!!!!

I stopped by Half Price Books to sell some items and was delighted to find that Black Forest Cafe was next door/attached! I grabbed an oat milk latte while I waited on my book sales, and the latte was amazing! The staff was also SO friendly, which was an added bonus. I didn’t get any food, but the pastries in the display counter looked extremely tasty, and the couple who sat near me had a massive slice of cake that looked incredible.

This is my favorite coffee shop!! Super tasty coffee, friendly staff, and such an amazing atmosphere and location. ;) I love to get a latte and just sit in the bookstore and crochet. I’ve heard their desserts are good too! This is a bit picky, but I also really like how they have honey out you can use for your coffee and put however much you want (I haven’t been back post-Covid, so I don’t know if that’s still the case). Highly recommend this place!

They have reopened!! Pre Covid post and still true: Other than the wonderment of being inside a bookstore, this coffee shop is my favorite. The have THE best chi latte. It's 100+ degrees right now and I still had to stop for a large, hot cup. Staff is always great and the variety of fresh drinks and food at reasonable prices keeps me coming back.

This place has been a haven for me for years, I even went to this half price books as a kid. Moving back years later and actually being able to drink the coffee, in my favorite bookstore, with the coolest baristas who I've had the pleasure to get to know over the last couple of years, there's really no way to go wrong. I love that all the employees are alternative, I love that they play their own music, I love that they make my favorite Chai latte in all of Dallas, strike up conversation, and give an honest response when you ask how they've been. There's very few places I feel more comfortable to just come in, be my awkward self, and enjoy a damn good coffee. When moving into my new apartment, I put into consideration how close I was to my favorite place to relax (here). Can't wait for this pandemic to get better & see Black Forest Coffee reopen.
