Nashaa

I travel around the canal system so have the opportunity to sample many takeaways so am able to make comparisons. Nashaa is easily accessible from the canal at Hawksbury, a friendly greeting on entering the restaurant with pleasant decor, As a boring old guy I ordered my usual which was prepared quickly. The food quality was Very good, full of flavour, the portions were OK but was comparatively expensive to other places also disappointingly the dishes were presented in plastic containers I would have preferred foil for environmental reasons.

Went without a booking and there was space available. The staff were very helpful and polite and very willing to cook to the heat we liked. I ordered shakari lamb which was delicious and the sauce was very rich and nicely spiced. My partner had a king prawn pathia which had loads of prawns in and very tasty.

Summary: Extremely motivated staff. Authentic taste. A bit expensive. Small portions (compared to Indian restaurants in Germany). I am a German engineer on a business trip. I enjoyed the very motivated and friendly staff. I also enjoyed the hot and wet towel with a lemon scent, that I got after the meal. I don't like the pricing strategy, where rice is not included in the main dishes. If you order rice, than that's more than 2 pounds (a cup full of rice). Maybe this is standard in the UK 🇬🇧. I recommend to trust the restaurant's classification system regarding what is a spicy / hot dish and what is a mild dish :).
