Excellent breakfast and coffee this morning, we live on Moody Street so fantastic location for us. We would have given 5* for everything today but unfortunately the restaurant was really cold
I ate my food in my coat I noticed a lot of other dinners were sitting with their coats on. I don’t think the plates were warmed so with it being so cold inside plus a cold plate the food went cold whilst we were eating it. That was the only thing letting this place down. Will return again soon and hope to find some heating on.

My friend had her birthday here a couple weeks ago and it was fabulous! Ben was the staff member who put on a cocktail making class for us all, which was exceptional. All the staff were very attentive and friendly. We had some food platters which were great, something for everyone.
Overall everything was above and beyond from the service to the venue! Everyone had an amazing time.

A lovely building with great interior. Upstairs is even better. Toilets are very clean and impressive. Staff friendly and the menu is good. Service is a bit slow and both the scrambled and poached eggs were at best average, won’t have again, but will try soy else next time I’m in congleton

I pretty much never write reviews but the meal I had a couple of weeks ago was so outstanding that I wanted to share my experiences. Genuinely, the best steak I've ever eaten and overall one of the finest meals I've had anywhere.
We had the sharing steak - a beautiful, perfectly cooked sirloin which cut like a fillet and was delicious, complimented by the thyme used in the cooking process. Ordinarily the steak would be the star of the meal, but everything else on the plate was incredible too - confit potato which was crisp on the outside and beautifully light on the inside, perfectly roasted tomatoes, mushrooms and a whole head of garlic, served with excellent bearnaise and chimichurri sauces (I think - it was green and tasty but I didn't actually check what this was!).
Overall a really excellent and thoughtful dish, and great value for money given the quality of all the ingredients and amount of food.
Also worth mentioning is the service which was lovely - attentive, but not overly so.
I'm obsessed with great food and a decent steak is as good as it gets for me - this meal ticked all the boxes and I will definitely be back for another round. Thank you!

Had a lovely Eggs Benedict, beautiful presentation (would have liked a little more hollandaise sauce). Also had a yummy deluxe coconut hot chocolate. In comparison to lots of other places Higher Grounds prices are reasonable. Staff were welcoming and service was fast. We shall be back.

My son and I always stop in Congleton for coffee and brunch on our way back from our visit to the cemetery on Howey Hill.
Spotted this place having walked past it many times before. Oh how we wish we'd found it sooner.
The coffee and elderberry tea were great but the food was absolutely incredible 👌🏼. We chose Turkish and Benedict eggs which were both mouthwatering.
Fantastic decor, furnishings and staff complete this wonderful dining experience.
We can't recommend this place highly enough - 5 Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Food, coffee and drinks are sensational. Such a refreshing spot to arrive in Congelton, unique to the town. Been twice already since it's opened and loved every plate I've had. The spicy eggs are immense, highly recommend.
Can't wait to come back for the roast and mezze. Quality and attention to detail is spot on.
