Double D Diner

Sunday March 27th 2022 This classic greasy spoon closes at 9pm on Sunday. We showed up at 8pm, and were the only ones here. Literally the place was empty. Hm. This was concerning. The host/our waiter was watching TV when we pulled up. Poor guy was waiting for customers. It's shaped like a classic diner, silver everywhere, very retro vibe. Those 50s throwback chairs & booths. That very specific diner style filled this place. I dig it. Dessert counters were all empty/actually broken as well as salad bar now being used for storage. The salad bar being closed is probably from covid - a majority of diners seem to have eliminated their buffets & salad bars indefinitely. I understand but also disappointing. At the same time, considering it was an hour before closed and a ghost town, it probably would not have been fresh lol. The place seemed slightly run down, possibly struggling from covid. Most of the neon signs weren't lit up/burned out. Entrance was dirty. You'd think it being empty would be a bad sign but we actually had a pretty great experience here. Our waiter was nice & attentive. Kids meals are $7 and include their entrée, drink & dessert. It was a $40 check for our family of 5 - prices were definitely reasonable. Good customer service, yummy food. Classic diner experience. 4 stars. Thanks. I think we would be back, however, we were only stopping here passing through. We live over an hour away.

It is one of the best experiences I've had. Personally for me, I was impressed with the customer service. The food there was yummy and the chrome feel gives it a vintage vibe. The staff there are very kind and I am 100% satisfied. Did I say satisfied? I meant extremely satisfied! Good for those who endure a long day of driving on the road. Especially truckers. It's also good for those who want to let their hair down. Keep up the fantastic work.

I do-not recommend this restaurant. I literally observed the waitress who served our food, take payments at the register and after that she was sitting at the counter wrapping-up clean silverware with her bare hands without washing them first or wearing gloves. This is disgusting, especially during Covid. Who wants to eat food after it's been touched by a person's bare hands and after touching customers dirty credit cards? The owner Abdul, i only know his name because I overheard her say it, was sitting there at the counter watching all of this chaos going on. The waitress was somewhat friendly, but had no idea what she was doing is prohibited by law for sanitary reasons and isn't permitted by the health department. I also observed the staff having personal conversations with one another in front of customers. This is a business, you're there to do a job and customers do-not need to hear your personal, unnecessary conversations about your weight loss and diet issues! This is the problem with many businesses today, the owners don't care, so why should the staff! I asked for well done hash-brown-potatoes and was given barely cooked ones instead. I told the waitress and she said they were just made fresh, well i would hope so, and if I wanted them more well done, I'd have to wait at least 20 minutes or more! Are you serious? It doesn't take 20 minutes or more to cook potatoes a lil bit more well done! I just accepted what she said and didn't eat them. I knew I'd never be back here anyway and didn't want to cause any unnecessary drama. The place is kind-of run-down inside and was not very clean. I definitely do-not recommend this place to anyone, unless you enjoy this type of torture. Have a Blessed day.....

Abdul you will never get our business again. You need to learn how to run a business and keep your customers satisfied! The food did not come out as requested causing him to scream in the kitchen towards us because we sent it back. The waitress was very nice and kept apologizing. He is lucky my husband did not knock him out for his disrespect. He does not know how to run a business that's why all his employees are always leaving.
