Neo Sushi

Great sushi, even better location and hours. We were enjoying the cooler weather out in this part of NJ and found ourselves looking for something to eat before heading home 🌆. It seemed at this point of the summer everything was closing at 8, not this spot. We opted to eat outside and further enjoy the outdoors and watch the sunset at their cafe tables.

Solid, budget-friendly sushi and sashimi. Fish quality and roll construction are both good, although each type was a mixed bag. While it may be my own perception, it felt like the spicy yellowfin was waay above the others like salmon+avocado. Non-fish items like the miso and noodle soup were also tasty. Extra points because they catered to a super specific vegan order in our group.

“Treated” myself to a bday dinner—one of the highest priced menu items……..surf and turf hibatchi. I actually think this is THE most expensive item; not certain though. The lobster AND the meat were small diced portions of overcooked, dry meat (lobster too). You would think this was prepared for a toddler or an elderly person who can’t chew. Actually—CHEWY really IS the best word to describe this food. Like chewing gristle. I’ve been reading reviews and it’s always the purchaser’s fault or the fault of the front-end girl—anything other than maybe they need to rethink the quality and preparation of their food. When I called to complain, I spoke to the owner who told me that I was wrong, their food is “adored by all” and was trying to “start trouble”. The only trouble I had was paying $50 for an inedible meal. SINCE IM NOT ABLE TO DIRECTLY RESPOND TO THE OWNER: I already said in my original post that it’s clear you shirk responsibility for the negative reviews. I live in Clinton, so yes, I ordered at the restaurant in Clinton. I also spoke DIRECTLY TO YOU, THE OWNER. In fact, you were extremely rude to me. Stop playing dumb.

Ordered a simple order of avacado and cucumber rolls through Uber Eats. Two hours later a driver was finally attached to order and 15 minutes later, I received a notification that the order was cancelled. I didn't cancel the order. Restaurant told me to contact Uber. Uber blamed the driver. I believe Uber is to blame.
