Ruby Tuesday

My boyfriend took me for my birthday supper and it was my first at a Ruby's. I have to admit I was both impressed and disappointed. When we arrived, there was about a 20min wait, so we decided to wait in the bar where I could have a glass a wine to pass the time. We got a spot right at the bar, which was wonderful & I loved that they had hooks under the bar for purses. It took about 15mins for the bartender to take our drink orders as she was the only one working & responsible for not only all of the tables in the bar section, people at the bar itself & all of the drinks for the rest of the building. This didn't make sense as it was a Saturday. Once we were seated, we met our WONDERFUL, if not flustered, waitress. This poor girl was responsible for a birthday group of about 20, plus us & about 5 other tables. Again, this doe not make sense. Our food was great, as was the wine. However, coming from two people who work in the business (hubby is a chef & I'm a pastry chef), the place was SEVERELY understaffed for a Saturday night. The only thing that really "saved" our visit, was our wonderful waitress. She was not only honest, but very genuine & kind. IF we were to go back, I sincerely hope that manager does a better job of staffing.

Bad food and service. Every time I order they make it different and doesn't match the menu description. The salads they make for you have been warm and wilted. The hot food is often barely warm. I went to pick up a to go order with my 3 year old and I could see my food was ready but waited for ten minutes while the waitress made drinks, went to a table, and talked to other servers. I watched my food get cold and felt totally ignored. They forgot some of our sides and literally dumped my husbands fries right on top of his ribs so they were soggy and all on rib sauce. They forgot my salad dressing and croutons more than not. Don't waste your money. Not worth the trouble even with coupons.

Serve was amazing and kept my little one entertained. Husbands food and little ones food were very good. Mine however was very salty. Got the chicken Bella with rice pilaf, and both tasted like they were drowned in salt. Even tried to take off some of the cheese from the chicken, but the chicken itself tasted like it was almost soaked in salt.

Overall I just wasn't very impressed. Our food was good enough but wasn't anything I'd want to seek out again. Also, it was cold in the restaurant. Probably 55 degrees. My kids had to eat with their jackets on for part of the meal. The waitress, when I asked which Sam seasonal was on tap, she replied "the seasonal". Then she clarified that it might be the lager (aka not a seasonal). Our food was fine, but was really not great. No one got sick, so that at least makes it ok to eat. The men's bathroom was also extremely sticky on the floor. Both mine and my son's shoes stuck to the floor and carpet after we exited the bathroom. Overall I'd say to find something else if in this area of Clifton park.

I usually love this place, but this time it was not a good experience. We had a large group of 12 people. So I understand it makes it harder but, two people got their food 10 minutes before anyone else and one person didn't get their food until everone else was already done with their meal because they apparently delivered his food to someone else. Which they didn't realize until we asked where his food was. My food was over cooked, two others had their food very undercooked, and one others order was completely wrong all together. On top of that the bathrooms were out of order. Again I know having a large group can be tough but I feel like that was just plain old bad all around. It could have just been an off night for all working there but it doesn't make me want to go there again any time soon. I was told the salad bar was great though.

My first time having lunch here. Great service and food. I had Heckory Bourbon Salmon with broccoli as a side. The menu item with two sides can be substituted for salad bar dish, yes, they have salad bar where you make your own combination of salads, this would add $1.99 to your receipt. Why 4 starts then! Because the table we ate on was sticky and I guess wasn't cleaned as expected.

We drove a long way to stop here as we do not have this restaurant locally. We waited at the front to be seated for about 5 minutes and no one came so we sat at the bar at which there was no bartender to be found. The bartender finally came to the bar and after cleaning other things for several minutes we were given menus. We both ordered burgers which took a while to arrive. When they did they were terribly dry and inedible. We ate the salad bar that came with our meal and didn't even take our burgers to go. When I contacted the restaurant about our terrible experience I was not offered any apology or compensation. We will not be stopping here again.
