Bottomless Pit Bbq

Sadly, very disappointed. We got the beef brisket with mac and cheese and pulled pork with baked beans for $27. For the cost of the meal, we thought there would be much more that came with it or larger portions. The flavor of the brisket probably could have been good however the dominant flavor was “burnt beef”. So we couldn’t tell. Not smoked. DEFINITELY burnt. The brisket we received on this first and last visit here was burned, rock hard and the few parts that weren’t burnt were like leather. The mac n cheese had no flavor at all. The pulled pork had the same issues as the brisket - burned and hard. It seemed like they tried to drown it in sauce to cover up the burnt taste. The baked beans were very good. And the can of ginger ale that we paid $2 was great. That’s the only reason there is one star instead of none. BUT… when the best part of your meal is the soda, you have got issues. When you go to a place to eat lunch on a Saturday (also Labor Day Weekend) in a touristy town and they can’t get that right…also a red flag. A sad lesson for us and our digestive tracts. Maybe we just picked a bad day to come here. We hope your experience is much better than ours.

Honeslty, the only real BBQ in the 1000 Islands. Anyone can slap BBQ sauce on meat and call it BBQ but here the owner smokes everything on site, makes everything from scratch, all sorts of sides. He's the only one who makes the food so it's always the way it's supposed to be. Super generous man. He also caters events of all size. It's a pretty cool operation he's got going on there. 10/10 would 100% recommend.
