Imo's Pizza

I’ve only lived in St. Louis for about two years, but Imo’s has quickly become a guilty pleasure of mine. I like the sweet tomato sauce. I like the cracker-thin crust. And yes, I even like the gooey provel cheese. I don’t pretend to be a food connaisseur, and I’ll never say no to some Chicago deep dish or a foldable NY slice, but I enjoy STL style pizza and this remains a go-to of mine. I’ve always had good luck ordering from the Clayton location.

ST LOUIS STYLE PIZZA! I was bummed to see that this place only had four stars. The thing is you have to know what you are in for with St Louis style pizza. It's like a cracker with a pizza on top but I really liked it! My main complaint was that it was kind of pricey for delivery, although I did appreciate how customizable everything was (I got half hamburger half pepperoni). They also cut the pizza in squares, which some hate but I love. If you are visiting and need delivery, get this. It is an authentic St Louis experience for sure. Their wings were also decent and delivered pretty. I would avoid the salad, although I liked that they offered it.

Such good pizza. At first sauce all the way to the crust was super strange to us and the sauce reminded us of Prego spaghetti sauce, but as we dug in we couldn’t get enough. It was so stinking good. Crust was crispy and the cheese was cooked perfectly. It we were in town another day we probably would have got it again it was so good.

I went to college in St. Louis and was looking forward to eating here again while I was back in town for the weekend. It did not disappoint. The toasted ravioli was hot and delicious, even better than I remembered. We got a pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. It was served hot and there were plenty of toppings. Provel might not be for everyone (it's not really my favorite), but Imo's does St. Louis style pizza better than anyone. The staff at this location was friendly and the restaurant was really clean, too.
