The Woodlands Pub And Restaurant

We came and had Sunday lunch carvery at the cafe and it was amazing. The food was really good quality and lots to choose from. I had beef and lamb carvery which came with stuffing and Yorkshire pudding and a huge choice of potatoes and veg. The dessert selection was fantastic also. Great value for money and the staff were lovely

Thank you to everyone today who helped to make our family get together today really special. We are not a small family so thank you to Becky and her staff who worked extra hard to accommodate 38 of us. The food as always was delicious. The Sunday carvery is the best around by far. Always fresh. Good portions and lots of choice of vegetables. That's why I keep going back. 5 stars eveytime. Sally xx

Went in wanting a small bite to eat before we headed back to our Air BnB. Saw the process didn't expect a lot but saw it had some good reviews. I can say without a shadow of a doubt the food was brilliant. Great thick cut chips and the best burger I've ever had in a pub. Way better than any chain pub I've visited. Lovely staff, amazing value for money. Already planning on our next visit to Forest of Dean with this place an essential part of the trip

We have enjoyed the Woodlands Sunday lunch takeaway twice now recently in December 2020. On both occasions the food was of a very high quality and there was plenty of it. It is also possible to eat in (socially distanced) but having said that it gets quite busy and so booking is advisable. Good honest food at a competitive price.

I'm glad I've made the effort to do this having seen the 1 star review from a week ago. This is a pub of two halves. On arrival the bar side was not inviting, the outside was untidy and it gave the impression of a locals pub in the worst sense ( others are unwanted). However this was completely wrong. We were sat outside waiting for our booked time and the gentleman from the pub who came out to clear tables came over to speak to us helpfully. He was really friendly and remembered our booking. There is in fact a separate restaurant /cafe which I say as it appears to be a coffee shop by day and pub restaurant by night ( really smart business use). The eating side was clean, the toilets were a world apart from the pub side, the ladies serving were lovely helpful and welcoming. The food was great pub grub, proper coffee machine and loads of homemade cakes and puds. We would definately go back. This is a locals pub in the best sense ...the one you go to as it's full of locals as a great place to go. Ps they are helpful to dietary requirements

Haven't been in this establishment for years, and I was quite pleasantly surprised how much the restaurant's changed for the better. The Sunday lunch was very good especially when you consider the price, main meal, dessert and a hot drink for just under a tenner. Toilets look like they've been refurbished and were very clean and tidy.

I want to give a mixed review really. When we got there we asked a lady with a apron where should we sit she barge passed my dad who is on walking stick and said to him go to counter quite rudely. Then managed to get to counter spoke to another lady who said we where late. But I said booking was for 1.30pm. She was really nice and showed us to are table. But I will say OMY the food was amazing Calvary was to die for the lamb was tasty and tender the gravy just lovely. We brought pudding home to. Amazing value. Thanks
