Avis sur First Draft

This Gem was not even on my list but I am so glad we came across it. This was one of only two 5-Star restaurants for me on my trip. The selections of beer are top notch and can't wait to go back to try more. Most importantly the food was amazing. I pretzel bites were perfect texture, temperature and had great dipping sauces. A pimento cheese and sweet mustard. The pulled pork sandwich was great as well as the red velvet pie we had for dessert. But the best think by was was the sweet potato fries. I love sweet potato fries and have had them in different states and on different continents and these are my new favorite. This place I would highly recommend and will return to when I make it back to Chicago. Thanks First Draft.!!!

I went there to meet friends for a bears game. I was the first one at the bar so I thought it’d be uncomfortable. To my surprise, there was a diverse crowd of ages and genders. It made me feel comfortable. Bartender was so sweet and helpful deciding what to get to drink. She let me sample ciders on draft. Pretzel bites were delish. Make sure to eat fresh bc they’re not as good cold. Mustard and pimento cheese complimented well.

First time visit to Chicago, from the Boston area. Stopped in before the Bears, Thursday night game, and naturally, the place was very busy. Service was reasonable, despite what appeared to be only one waitress covering the place. Burger, wings, and beer, were all good, but the standout, was the sweet potato fries….light, airy, crispy, and seasoned perfectly. If you are a SPF fan, this place does them incredibly well… maybe the best I’ve ever had.

While walking and exploring downtown looking for a spot to watch NFL football (KC Chiefs).. I found First Draft! Great bar with the best drinks and food menu. The servers where top notch and I got to meet Chevy the owner. He was mixing it up with the customers, talking and taking photos with them... Till next time 🍻 - cheers!!

Great little pub just south of the Loop. Was nice to be able to walk to the hotel from here. Very high quality draft list with some solid local Midwest options. Food menu is upscale pub grub with some good specials on certain days. Had the Cubano with fries which was delicious. Bartenders and the manager (I assume) were great. Great spot to catch a game and enjoy a couple beers. Would return often if I lived locally.

I enjoyed a great meal and cold beer on my last night here on vacation from Sacramento, CA. Everyone was really nice and it was a welcoming atmosphere. I would have given a 5 star for service, but I observed something I took up with a member of staff that turned out to be the owner. I feel there is no need to explain due to the owner immediately addressing and rectifying my issue. The food was amazing, and I can't wait to visit again to give a few other things on the menu a try. 😋

We were visiting from out of town and staying in the South Loop area. We wanted to find a sports bar that had college football games, a nice selection of craft beers, and good food, and boy, did we find that place! We got there just before 5:00 on a Saturday. It was busy but a table had just opened up. There were many TV’s broadcasting a bunch of different games. The place was loud, but we were still able to carry a conversation sitting across the table from each other. They had 64 craft beers on tap. It was fun trying out some different and local brews. We ordered the fried pickle chip’s appetizer and they were really good! Lightly battered and just the right amount of crunch. I ordered the Slammin’ Salmon sandwich which was the Saturday special. It was delicious! Big piece of salmon with a lemony aioli sauce, avocado, and greens on a beautiful brioche bun. I chose the Brussels sprout side and it came with a huge mound of them, that I couldn’t even finish. My husband ordered the Cubano with sweet potato fries. He said he really liked his. The sweet potato waffle fries were excellent. Just the right amount of crisp! Our server was friendly and was very attentive with how busy they were. I definitely recommend First Draft!

Wow! Love this place. The service is truly exceptional. Our server was Alex. She did a wonderful job with an adorable smile and attitude. Some guy kept checking on everything while smiling, dancing, and snapping. Turns out...he's an owner, named Chevy! He was such a refreshing pleasure who was genuinely thrilled to hear positive feedback. The lemon pepper wings were delicious and HUGE. Fried pickles were just right. They have a huge beer selection and something for everyone. Lots of TVs and good music. We shared Malort, a Chicago liqueur, with Alex and Chevy. I enjoyed it, but my girlfriend...not so much. Try it and become a local! Anyone in hospitality should get training here. My favorite experience!

After your First Draft you will have many more…Sunday Funday sat at the bar, table and outside seating available. Vast selection of drafts, multiple hazy IPAs. Did a hazy flight and had the very nice 1/2 chicken lightly jerked, served on a cutting board. Attentive service, multiple screens and sport games playing.
