Francesca's On Chestnut

Cute place w warm ambience with good food in the Gold Coast across from the theater. Food is a bit salty but it’s good and the pasta was al Dente and good quality plus chewy and fresh. We had: Alla Vodka E Salsiccia $24.95 Sauteed with vodka sauce, basil, fresh mozzarella, crumbled sausage - the pasta was so chewy and looks like blankets and tasted great along w the sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese Bucatani Al Funghetto $23.95 Porcini and wild mushrooms, mascarpone, white truffle oil, oregano, brandy-cream sauce — the sauce was a bit salty and good but not enough mushrooms and wish it came with fresh Mozzarella cheese but the bucatini pasta was really good and fresh Overall a great little place! I just wish there was more food or bigger serving size for the price. Service was great too.

This review has been a long time coming! One year ago today we had the most amazing rehearsal dinner for our son and his wife. The staff took care of all the decorations I dropped off earlier in the day, the event coordinator was beyond easy and helpful to work with. The servers that night were outstanding from service to wine reccomdations. I belive there names were Tiffiny and Sarah. The food was excellent! The guests loved it all as did we. Thank you for making this day extraordinary 💕

This was probably my best Italian meal in Chicago since I started coming 6 years ago. The wines by the glass were all fantastic. The bread was lovely. We ordered what our waiter, Mauricio, recommended (he had great recommendations for my vegetarian husband, too!). The vodka sauce with sausage was one of my favorite dishes ever and my husband really enjoyed the rigatoni eggplant in a spicy red sauce. Francesca's On Chestnut is a busy, upscale, warm and friendly festive vibe for the holidays! Also, the bill was really reasonable!!

When it's GOOD it's really GOOD....this place was first class all around. We had the best servers ever, Sarah and Tiffiny, and they served with grace and passion. Our food started with group appetizers (flavorful), main course (5 star), and finished with the best cheese cake I've ever had. The Ambience was classy and quaint for a group. Thank you, Sarah and Tiffiny, you made our evening special!

We enjoyed this place after for dinner on our last night in Chicago. It was in walking distance from our hotel. The only issue I had was the pasta was a little too al dented for my taste but the sauce was great!! The app we ordered was Italian bread topped with whipped ricotta cheese, bacon, asparagus, then drizzled in honey!!! Freaking delicious

Highly recommend this place! They were able to accommodate us on short notice. 3 people helped us to get sited moving tables around, bringing high chair and crayons for the kids. They made it look like they are a team, every single person knew what she/he was supposed to do to make things as much comfortable and easy for our big family as it possible. The food is delicious, we actually ordered more than we could eat as the size of the appetizer and main course is significant. I can repeat again that every single bite tasted great and we really enjoyed the place. We will come back there many times for sure.
