Kit Carson Restaurant

Have been here a few times food and service have been hit or miss. Never the same. Our last trip was for breakfast. I ordered the homemade cinnamon roll. Not sure if the waitress put it in the microwave for too long, but it was so dry thru to the center. And very grainy from the sugar. Won't be having it again. On one trip we ended up leaving, stood waiting to be seated for some time and no one even knew we were there. Worst part, they were not busy.

Unfortunately I know that help is hard to find and a lot of businesses are having a difficult time these days, but I need to be honest when I say the food wasn't good at all. I'm hoping it was just a bad day or a new cook. But everything was soaked in grease and my fathers French toast was 15 minutes later than all our other food. His was easier!

I'm giving them 2 stars because our server was very polite. But honestly I can't see myself going back anytime soon. Hubby and I went for breakfast. I got ham and eggs. It was fine, but it's hard to mess up such a basic dish. On the other hand my husband ordered eggs Benedict. When the server asked how he wanted his eggs we should have realized there was an issue. When the dish came, words cannot accurately describe its appearance. The sauce was so broken it looked like scrambled eggs in oil. The fact that the cook and the server didn't realize this was wrong is sad. At least they didn't charge us for my husband's meal. It's sad too, because this place used to be pretty good.

Food was pretty good, service even better! I got the Mount St Helens scramble, it was a solid breakfast fair, didn't blow my mind, but they were happy to make a vegetarian version of it, which I appreciated. The service was on point; didn't bug me all the time, but were prompt with more coffee, and making adjustments to my order. They also helped me get a receipt I had forgot to ask for the next day. Lot of people hating on this place because of new owners, but I found the staff to be warm, welcoming, and exceedingly customer oriented. If I'm back in Chehalis later, I'll stop by.
