Prime 109

I was there for the soft opening. The building is a historic old bank that has been entirely redone with elegance and class. It gives you a nostalgic feeling when dining and drinks had meaning. I started with a cocktail that was superb, and then did a red wine with a great filet. Finished the night with a tawny port and ice cream sundae. Interesting fact, there is a fireplace in the mens bathroom. I'm wondering if it will be on in the winter. Bathroom has one use towels for drying hands. Very classy. Seats about 80, and had a great bar. Abraham can make amazing drinks based on your preferences. Private room upstairs can hold 40. I have a feeling I'll visit it on many occasions in the future.

Lackluster attempt at fine dining. Close but not yet. Compliments: Location, setting, menu, hostess & most staff. Steak Frites wonderful esp the Primal Sauce. Fra Diablo also wonderful. Salads very nice Suggestions: Buy martini glasses. And research and perfect a dirty martini. The two attempts served to us were significantly different and both terrible. Steaks served to our table and to an unrelated table next to us were also terrible. Guests next to us could not stop complaining while they waited for another steak order. Ordered a flourless cake to go which was eventually boxed and placed in a bag. Opened box 15 min later at home. Unclear what's in the box...see pic. Appears that leadership/management passion is lacking and clearly not exhibited throughout the staff. Most seem to care in general but lack passion. Unlikely we'll return.

I managed a steakhouse in downtown Austin Texas for 3 years and have been in the F&B hospitality industry for 15 years. So pardon my lengthy review! Beautiful building. Wonderful ambience. Our server (Todd?) went out of his way to ensure an outstanding tailored experience. Knowledgeable, courteous, welcoming. Everything you look for to help guide you through your culinary experience. Their Som helped us choose a nice wine to accompany our 24 Oz dry aged bone in ribeye. Which was stupid good! People may get confused about dry aging, thinking that it makes a steak taste "better". Not the case, it makes it different. Rich, nutty and robust compared to the traditional savory of a wet aged steak. Regardless it was delicious, accompanied by garlic miso demi paste and fresh lemon which was surprisingly delightful! Wine list is mostly old world selections which is untraditional for a steakhouse. Potatoes gratin were stupid good! Would be a great place to take clients for a quiet dinner with great service and food. Overall great experience and will definitely be back!

I was taken here last year for my birthday and it was one of the best if not the best dining experience ever. From the time we walked in the door until we walked out the door, it was amazing. The steak, the sides, the dessert and drinks were fabulous. Oh, the service was impeccable!! It was quite an emotional experience for me as I worked in that building(Bank of America) for 28 years. Such good memories of the bank. One of the owners gave us a tour after dinner. That was so special. I highly recommend Prime 109 to anyone who wants an unforgettable dining experience.

Celebrated our anniversary here on Prime’s fourth day in business. Service was excellent albeit a bit slow, but that is more than typical in the first week of launching such a large operation. You’ll find the steaks are cooked perfectly and unbelievably tender and juicy. Oysters Rockefeller are head and shoulders above the best you’ve ever had. The wine list is intriguingly creative and very enjoyable. If you want an evening enjoying a top notch dining experience, this is it.

This place is amazing. Not only do they have a crazy classy building, but the staff is perfect and the experience is totally in line with what you'd expect from the marble floors and 20 foot ceilings. Never before has steak tasted this good. The portions are generous and the prices are totally reasonable for the exceptional quality you'll undoubtedly receive. Have dinner here and you'll be inspired to write an equally glowing review.
