This is a historic cafe in Charlottesville Virginia and I went today after not being home a while MANE !!! MEL HOOKED ME UP WITH THE BEST DOUBLE BACON CHEESEBURGER WITH A FRIED EGG! ALL I CAN SAY, “HANDS DOWN BEST BURGER IN CHARLOTTESVILLE AND THE WHOLE GOT DANG STATE OF VIRGINIA!” With LOVE CUMI (Kool-Me😎😝!) and FAMILY WE LOVE THE MEL’s Cafe FAM!
RIP TO ALL YOUR PEOPLE AND FAMILY THEY WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED -WITH LOVE!

I’m riding the Amtrak home with my son after a very taxing trip. We have a layover here, I stopped in to get us a real meal and boy was it worth it!! Definitely filled these two hungry travelers! Great food great service, and the build has some pretty cool history dont forget to check out the photos on the walls!!

Fantastic food! BLT, Burger and omelette were all fantastic! Friendliest staff! The wait for the food can be slightly longer than some expect, but there are only a few folks running the place and it’s worth a small wait. Wish it was in my hometown. I’d be there several times a week.

Been here twice. Great diner food and friendly. Had burger and fried chicken dinner. Prefer the fried chicken.

The lady who took my order is such a nice person! That always makes such a big difference.
The chicken though was fried very well. Seasoned subtly, but just right. If you are in the area and love fried chicken, stop by and get the three piece, you won't be disappointed.

This was a wonderful spot! Polish sausage and country ham sandwich were great!! But the grilled donuts, aaagh the grilled donuts were absolutely delicious! They were so warm and gooey and just perfect!
