Rum Bar

Update 2023: The tacos are huge! The fish tacos are awesome. I recommend sitting at the bar for fastest service. The best food and service I have had an airport to date! An absolute oasis in the mad confusion of CLT, the restaurant has several sitting options and relaxing music to block the airport sounds. As of July 2022, they are a sit yourself restaurant. The menu is reasonably priced and competitive with other airport restaurants. The tacos are huge and would make a nice shared meal if traveling with someone. They do have mixed drinks and the doubles are served in pint sized glasses, the kind without the thicker bottom halves. My drink was made well (strong).

We had the crab cake burger & the honey rum shrimp tacos. Very good size & lots of flavor, the fries were a little bland. Our waitress was very friendly & attentive with a full dining area. Prices what you would expect for an airport restaurant, food came out quickly. Pina Colada served on the rocks not blended but was still delicious and great flavor.

Great food and super fast service. Our entrees were both out within 10 minutes of ordering! Friendly bartenders and super attentive. Their cocktails are pricey though and more expensive than the food itself - a house margarita in a regular 8-12 oz glass for $22 is way too much and they don't list the cocktail prices in the menu so that was a little misleading- other than that, amazing food full of flavor!

It seems to be only dine-in restaurant near gate Ds. Other places are grab and go, beer, or coffee shop type. Plenty of available seats. Good services. The server was attentive and friendly. The food was okay. I got rum shrimp taco served with fries. The bill was $19 for two taco and fries. I think it is a little expensive even for airport restaurants. Shrimp was small, but they gave you many of them in one taco. Nothing really taste like specialty food. It is editable, but not specially good or anything like that. If you sit on the high table in the middle of the restaurant, you can enjoy the natural sun light through the sky roof above.

Have been here twice over layovers in Charlotte. The service has been good both times. The food is good. Both times it was served quickly even while very busy. The atmosphere is good and relaxing. I've enjoyed the music played and it's easy enough to hear those at your table. There is seating along the wall with power as well if your solo and looking to recharge devices as well as yourself.
